Ascorbate metabolism in potato leaves supplied with exogenous ascorbate
Photosynthesis and leaf ascorbate were measured in potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) plants grown in low light and then transferred to high light. Total foliar ascorbate content in low light-grown plants was 4.72+/-0.42 micromol mg(-1)chl. Over 80% of the ascorbate pool was found in the reduced form irrespective of position on the stem.

Stability of Ascorbate in Urine - Relevance to Analyses for Ascorbate and Oxalate
Ascorbate is unstable in urine at room temperature at pH values ranging from 1 to 12. At pH 7 and above, oxalate is generated in amounts directly proportional to the ascorbate concentration. In 12 different urines, adjusted to pH 2 and incubated for 20 h

In Vitro Cell Density Determines the Sensitivity of Hepatocarcinoma Cells to Ascorbate
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the primary histological subtype of liver cancer, and its incidence rates increase with age. Recently, systemic therapies, such as immune checkpoint inhibitors, monoclonal antibodies, and tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs)

Membrane Permeabilities of Ascorbic Acid and Ascorbate [PDF]
Vitamin C (VC)—a collective term for the different oxidation and protonation forms of ascorbic acid (AscH)—is an essential micronutrient that serves as (i) a potent antioxidant and (ii) a cofactor of a manifold of enzymatic processes. Its role in health is related to redox balance maintenance, which is altered in diseases such as obesity, cancer ...
