The present chapter describes a simple and economic indirect enzyme immunoassay (ELISA ) for African swine fever virus (ASFV) antibody detection based on the use of the soluble cytoplasmic fraction of ASFV-infected monkey stable cells (MS). The soluble antigen proteins of ASFV-infected cells are separated by sucrose precipitation centrifugation, and ...

ASFV vaccine candidate ASFV-G-ΔI177L has been shown to be highly efficacious in inducing protection against challenges with the parental virus, the Georgia 2010 isolate, as well as against field strains isolated from Vietnam. ASFV-G-ΔI177L has been shown

Function investigation of p11.5 in ASFV infection
Virus replication relies on complex interactions between viral proteins. In the case of African swine fever virus (ASFV), only a few such interactions have been identified so far. In this study, we demonstrate that ASFV protein p72 interacts with p11.5 using co-immunoprecipitation and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).

Temporally integrated transcriptome analysis reveals ASFV pathology and host response dynamics
African swine fever virus (ASFV) causes a lethal swine hemorrhagic disease and is currently responsible for widespread damage to the pig industry. The pathogenesis of ASFV infection and its interaction with host responses remain poorly understood. In this study, we profiled the temporal viral and host transcriptomes in porcine alveolar macrophages ...

Infection of pigs with the African swine fever virus (ASFV) leads to a devastating hemorrhagic disease with a high mortality of up to 100%. In this study, a CD2v gene deletion was introduced to a genotype IX virus from East Africa, ASFV-Kenya-IX-1033 ...

Viral modulation of interferon (IFN) responses to african swine fever virus (ASFV) [PDF]
Tese de mestrado. Biologia (Biologia Humana e Ambiente). Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Ciências, 2011A imunidade inata constitui a primeira resposta dada por um hospedeiro quando atacado por agentes patogénicos. A resposta imune baseia-se em genes
