Adult human organotypic cortical slices undergo marked neuronal loss, laminar disruption, and glial activation, yet their network activity progressively stabilizes after a variable period. Electrophysiology, longitudinal calcium imaging, and quantitative histology show that structurally remodeled human circuits show adaptive capacity resulting in ...

Cannabinoid CB1 Receptor in Nociceptors Mediates Postoperative Analgesia via ASIC3 Inhibition
CB1R and ASIC3 are co‐expressed in CGRP+ nociceptors of mouse DRG. Plantar incision triggers an upregulation of ASIC3 and activation of ASIC3+ neurons, driving mechanical allodynia. CB1R activation suppresses ASIC3 function and downstream ERK1/2 phosphorylation, thereby braking nociceptive signaling and accelerating pain resolution.

METH-induced, TAAR1-associated CREB signaling serves as a master regulator for astrocyte EAAT-2
Methamphetamine (METH) abuse accelerates the onset and severity of HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND) and astrocyte-mediated excitotoxicity. METH targets several receptors, particularly astrocyte trace amine associated receptor 1 (TAAR1), as ...

AI‐enabled de novo design of a TREM1 binder, integrated into a BBB‐crossing and macrophage‐targeted nanoplatform, enables TREM1 degradation and attenuates neuroinflammation, thereby promoting neuroprotection and tissue repair after traumatic brain injury. ABSTRACT Secondary neuroinflammation drives progressive damage after traumatic brain injury (TBI),

A Molecularly Defined Midbrain Circuit Mechanism for Sound‐Driven Defensive Behavior and Anxiety
Schematic diagram showing the Cbln2+ ICx–dPAG circuit for sound‐driven defensive and anxiety‐like behaviors. ABSTRACT The innate defense behaviors in response to threatening sounds play a fundamental role in survival. However, the neural circuits that detect threat‐relevant auditory cues and transform them into defensive behaviors remain poorly defined.

Astrocytic SCTR modulates depressive‐related phenotypes via AMPKα1, whereas lowered Mt1 blunts Megalin‐dependent AMPKα2 signaling in serotonergic neurons. Diminished AMPKα2 hinders KAT7 nuclear translocation, curtails KAT7 occupancy and H4K8ac at the Foxc2 promoter, and represses Foxc2 transcription, revealing cell‐type‐specific AMPK‐linked epigenetic ...

DUET‐seq is an open‐source droplet platform that jointly profiles chromatin accessibility and gene expression from the same nucleus. Dissolvable dual‐linker hydrogel beads and a one‐step intra‐droplet RT‐PCR co‐index both modalities in under 12 h at roughly $0.04 per cell.

In this study, we developed a cost‐efficient neural probe by replacing traditional gold with an aluminum‐based Ti/Al/Ni multilayer stack. Optimizing this metal architecture suppressed oxidation and ensured robust electrical stability, achieving signal quality comparable to standard gold probes. It enables a highly accessible and economical solution for

Predictive models successfully screen nanoparticles for toxicity and cellular uptake. Yet, complex biological dynamics and sparse, nonstandardized data limit their accuracy. The field urgently needs integrated artificial intelligence/machine learning, systems biology, and open‐access data protocols to bridge the gap between materials science and safe ...
