The genomic organization of the rat AT1 angiotensin receptor

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1992
The AT1 receptor subtype modulates all of the hemodynamic effects of the vasoactive peptide, angiotensin II. In this report, we investigate the genomic organization of this important receptor. A rat genomic library was screened with fragments from the 5' region of a previously cloned cDNA, pCa18b, encoding the rat AT1 receptor.

Therapeutic Effects of Angiotensin (AT1) Receptor Antagonists

American Journal of Cardiovascular Drugs, 2004
Blockade of the renin-angiotensin system improves morbidity and mortality of patients with cardiovascular diseases, e.g. arterial hypertension, renal failure, following myocardial infarction and in congestive heart failure. The angiotensin II type 1 (AT(1)) receptor antagonists (angiotensin receptor blockers; ARBs), i.e.

AT1 Receptor Antagonists: Pharmacology

2004
Innovative chemical modifications of the first nonpeptide imidazole antagonist of Ang II led to the synthesis of various new orally active agents with increased potency and improved bioavailability (13%-80%). They block specifically and selectively the angiotensin ATI receptor without intrinsic agonist properties. The angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB)
