ER Stress Regulation of ATF6 Localization by Dissociation of BiP/GRP78 Binding and Unmasking of Golgi Localization Signals

open access: yes, 2002
ATF6 is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress-regulated transmembrane transcription factor that activates the transcription of ER molecular chaperones. Upon ER stress, ATF6 translocates from the ER to the Golgi where it is processed to its active form. We

Imperatorin ameliorates myocardial ischemia‐reperfusion injury by inhibiting endoplasmic reticulum stress‐mediated apoptosis via the PI3K/AKT/Nrf2 pathway

open access: yesJournal of Cell Communication and Signaling, Volume 20, Issue 2, June 2026.
By activating the PI3K/AKT/Nrf2 pathway, imperatorin can reduce endoplasmic reticulum stress and its mediated apoptosis in cardiomyocytes, improve the pathological changes of myocardial tissue, and thus improve myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury.

The effect of ATF6 deletion on ALS pathology

open access: yes, 2017

STING Modulating ER‐Phagy in the Prelimbic Cortex Neurons Contributed to Neuropathic Pain and Emotional Comorbidity

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
SNL induced ER‐phagy impairment and ER stress increase in the PrL neuron via STING and the STING pathway. Our data indicated that enhancing ER‐phagy in PrL neurons might provide analgesic and antidepressant effects through STING and its pathways in SNL mice. ABSTRACT Background Our previous data suggested that autophagy is crucial for neuropathic pain.

Edible Fungus Compound Cordycepin Protects Against Acetaminophen‐Induced Liver Injury

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, Volume 40, Issue 11, June 2026.
This study demonstrates that pretreatment with cordycepin (COR) effectively protects against acetaminophen (APAP)‐induced acute liver injury in mice. COR mitigates liver damage by exerting strong antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, and anti‐apoptotic effects through the modulation of ER proteostasis, HIF‐1, and PPAR signaling networks.

Status Epilepticus Alters the Function of Brain‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Epilepsy is a neurological disorder characterised by recurrent spontaneous seizures. Approximately 30% of patients are unable to achieve adequate seizure control with available medications, highlighting the need to better understand disease mechanisms and develop improved treatments.

The Protein Phosphatase Inhibitor LB100 Targets the Mesenchymal Lineage of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
To define the mechanisms of sensitivity to PP2A inhibitors (PP2Ai), we combined molecular profiling of PP2Ai responses with genome‐wide genetic screens. PP2Ai preferentially target mesenchymal pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) cells and engage pathways linked to transcriptional elongation, splicing, metabolism, and ER stress response factors ...

Biophysical assessment of the molecular mechanisms of Tau aggregation and its role in Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by the intracellular aggregation of the microtubule‐associated protein Tau. While the presence of large, insoluble neurofibrillary tangles has long been the primary focus of this research, a paradigm shift in the field now highlights smaller, soluble oligomers as the more neurotoxic Tau species leading

Activation of TRIM37 by ATF6 and degradation of ACSL4: inhibiting ferroptosis and propelling cervical cancer progression

open access: yesHereditas
Background Cervical cancer (CC), a prevalent gynecological malignancy, shows high global incidence and mortality. Tripartite motif-containing 37 (TRIM37), a significant ubiquitinating enzyme, is overexpressed in CC, fueling its progression, but its role ...
