E17110 promotes reverse cholesterol transport with liver X receptor β agonist activity in vitro

open access: yesActa Pharmaceutica Sinica B, 2016
Liver X receptor (LXR) plays an important role in reverse cholesterol transport (RCT), and activation of LXR could reduce atherosclerosis. In the present study we used a cell-based screening method to identify new potential LXRβ agonists.

ABCG1 rs57137919G>a polymorphism is functionally associated with varying gene expression and apoptosis of macrophages. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
ATP-binding cassette transporter G1 (ABCG1) is a transmembrane cholesterol transporter involved in macrophage sterol homeostasis, reverse cholesterol transport (RCT), and atherosclerosis.

The binding specificity of OppA determines the selectivity of the oligopeptide ATP-binding cassette transporter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
The purification and functional reconstitution of a five-component oligopeptide ATP-binding cassette transporter with a remarkably wide substrate specificity are described.

Targeted delivery of rosuvastatin enhances treatment of hyperhomocysteinemia-induced atherosclerosis using macrophage membrane-coated nanoparticles

open access: yesJournal of Pharmaceutical Analysis
Rosuvastatin (RVS) is an excellent drug with anti-inflammatory and lipid-lowering properties in the academic and medical fields. However, this drug faces a series of challenges when used to treat atherosclerosis caused by hyperhomocysteinemia (HHcy ...

ABCG1 is deficient in alveolar macrophages of GM-CSF knockout mice and patients with pulmonary alveolar proteinosis

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2007
Patients with pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP) display impaired surfactant clearance, foamy, lipid-filled alveolar macrophages, and increased cholesterol metabolites within the lung.

Depletion of Lipid Efflux Pump ABCG1 Triggers the Intracellular Accumulation of Extracellular Vesicles and Reduces Aggregation and Tumorigenesis of Metastatic Cancer Cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2018
The ATP-binding cassette transporter G1 (ABCG1) is a cholesterol lipid efflux pump whose role in tumor growth has been largely unknown. Our transcriptomics revealed that ABCG1 was powerfully expressed in rapidly metastatic, aggregative colon cancer cells,

ATP-binding cassette transporter G1 protects against endothelial dysfunction induced by high glucose [PDF]

open access: yesHeart, 2011
Introduction It is known that hyperglycaemia can contribute to defects in endothelial function, which is the early characteristic of atherosclerosis. ATP-binding cassette transporter G1 (ABCG1), a regulator of reversing cholesterol efflux, is highly expressed in endothelial cells.

Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Profiling Identifies B Cell‐Intrinsic Dysregulation of Sphingolipid Biosynthesis and Could Be Improved by Inhibiting UGCG in Primary Immune Thrombocytopenia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study generates the single‐cell atlas of pathogenic B‐cell subset Bc‐5 in ITP. It identifies RUNX3 as a key survival regulator and uncovers sphingolipid‐driven metabolic reprogramming, validating UGCG inhibition as a therapeutic candidate and building a valuable resource for ITP mechanistic and therapeutic exploration.

ELF5‐Mediated Enhancer–Promoter Interaction Regulates LALBA Expression in Ovine Mammary Gland

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the study, we systematically investigate the epigenetic mechanisms underlying lactation traits in sheep by integrating transcriptomic, chromatin accessibility, histone modification, and functional analyses. We identify a super‐enhancer at the LALBA locus and demonstrate that enhancer E4 functions as its core regulatory element.
