MEG Source Imaging and Group Analysis Using VBMEG

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2019
Variational Bayesian Multimodal EncephaloGraphy (VBMEG) is a MATLAB toolbox that estimates distributed source currents from magnetoencephalography (MEG)/electroencephalography (EEG) data by integrating functional MRI (fMRI) (https://vbmeg.atr.jp/). VBMEG

Decoding the ERD/ERS: influence of afferent input induced by a leg assistive robot

open access: yesFrontiers in Systems Neuroscience, 2014
This paper investigates the influence of the leg afferent input, induced by a leg assistive robot, on the decoding performance of a BMI system. Specifically, it focuses on a decoder based on the event-related (de)synchronization (ERD/ERS) of the ...

SAR Target Reconstruction Visualization Enhancement Based on Attributed Scattering Center Model

open access: yesLeida xuebao, 2013
It has important meaning for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) interpretation to estimate parameters from measured SAR data and visualize the SAR imagery. For the linearity of IFFT, single scattering center can be individually imaged adaptively to form an ...

When heat casts a spell on the DNA damage checkpoints [PDF]

open access: yesOpen Biology, 2014
Peregrine Laziosi (1265–1345), an Italian priest, became the patron saint of cancer patients when the tumour in his left leg miraculously disappeared after he developed a fever. Elevated body temperature can cause tumours to regress and sensitizes cancer

KA1-targeted regulatory domain mutations activate Chk1 in the absence of DNA damage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The Chk1 protein kinase is activated in response to DNA damage through ATR-mediated phosphorylation at multiple serine-glutamine (SQ) residues within the C-terminal regulatory domain, however the molecular mechanism is not understood. Modelling indicates

Compressive Detection Using Sub-Nyquist Radars for Sparse Signals

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2016
This paper investigates the compression detection problem using sub-Nyquist radars, which is well suited to the scenario of high bandwidths in real-time processing because it would significantly reduce the computational burden and save power consumption ...

An Algorithm for Target Parameter Estimation Based on Fractional Fourier and Keystone Transforms

open access: yesLeida xuebao, 2014
An important standard to measure the effectiveness of radar acquisition systems is the accuracy of target parameter estimation. To solve the estimation problem, the echo model of moving targets is established and the FRactional Fourier Transform (FRFT ...

Not-so-minor injuries: delayed diagnosis of a large splinter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Introduction: In contrast with victims of major trauma, patients who suffer minor injuries receive little specialist input. In most cases, this causes no difficulty, but there are situations where minor trauma results in persistent disability affecting ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Olaparib Combined with an ATR or Chk1 Inhibitor as a Treatment Strategy for Acquired Olaparib-Resistant BRCA1 Mutant Ovarian Cells

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2020
Objective: Despite the promise of PARP inhibitors (PARPi) for treating BRCA1/2 mutated ovarian cancer (OC), drug resistance invariably develops. We hypothesized rationale drug combinations, targeting key molecules in DNA repair pathways and the cell ...
