Adoption of vehicular ad hoc networking protocols by networked robots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper focuses on the utilization of wireless networking in the robotics domain. Many researchers have already equipped their robots with wireless communication capabilities, stimulated by the observation that multi-robot systems tend to have several

Treatment Method for Multi-AUV Cooperative Positioning Underwater Acoustic Propagation Delay Based on IMM Algorithm

open access: yes水下无人系统学报, 2023
To address the delay problem of underwater acoustic detection and communication in a master-slave autonomous undersea vehicle(AUV) cooperative positioning system, a time-delay processing method based on an interacting multiple model(IMM) algorithm is ...

Defence Contracting and Accrual‐Based Earnings Management

open access: yesAccounting &Finance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We examine accrual‐based earnings management in Spanish defence firms in 2011–2020, using a unique database from the Spanish Ministry of Defence. We find higher levels of accrual‐based earnings management and lower accrual quality in firms where defence contracts represent a high proportion of their total sales.

Applied Model‐Based Analysis and Synthesis for the Dynamics, Guidance, and Control of an Autonomous Undersea Vehicle [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, 2010
Model‐based analysis and synthesis applied to the dynamics, guidance, and control of an autonomous undersea vehicle are presented. As the dynamic model for describing vehicle motion mathematically, the equations of motion are derived. The stability derivatives in the equations of motion are determined by a simulation‐based technique using computational

Acute cardiovascular changes following heat exposure during simulated shipboard firefighting

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Like structural firefighting, shipboard firefighting requires extreme exertion. However, shipboard firefighting may be a unique cardiovascular stress as most sailors lack extensive firefighting experience and may complete significant work before reaching the fire scene.

Mesoscale and Submesoscale Variability in the Indian Ocean

open access: yesReviews of Geophysics, Volume 64, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract Material transport and air‐sea coupling dynamics associated with monsoon‐related mesoscale and submesoscale processes in the Indian Ocean significantly modulate biogeochemical cycles, the large‐scale energy balance, and both regional and global climate change.

Haptic Interface for Center of Workspace Interaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We build upon a new interaction style for 3D interfaces, called the center of workspace interaction. This style of interaction is defined with respect to a central fixed point in 3D space, conceptually within arm\u27s length of the user.

Evaluating the possible role of bottom currents and internal waves in shaping seafloor morphology in a mesophotic reef

open access: yesSedimentology, Volume 73, Issue 3, Page 593-619, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Mesophotic reefs are located in low light conditions which, depending on the region, are usually found in water depths greater than ~30 m. They are less affected by ocean warming than reefs found in shallower water depths and thus might become increasingly important for the sustainability of marine biodiversity.
