Bacterial brown spot disease of Cymbidium spp. caused by Pseudomonas cepacia.
A new disease showing brown spot with water-soaked halo on the leaves of Cymbidium spp. occurred in Itoshima, Fukuoka, Japan during the summer in 1984. A nonfluorescent Pseudomonas sp. was consistently isolated from the infected leaves. The strains of the causal agent of the present disease were identical in being positive for the following properties:
