Base editing goes into hyperdrive

Nature Cell Biology, 2020
CRISPR base editors can induce single-base-pair changes in the genome, although they are often inefficient. A study now shows that fusion of the DNA-binding domain of RAD51 to base editors enhances both the efficiency and the targeting range of optimized enzymes. These ‘hyper-editors’ offer effective tools for disease modeling and gene therapy.

Symmetry-based photo-editing

Pattern Recognition, 2003
In this paper, we demonstrate how to edit digital photos based on the understanding of high-level geometric knowledge imposed upon objects in the photos. This is achieved by the correct recovery of the 3-D shape and relationships of the objects, without explicitly performing full 3-D reconstruction.

Cytosine Base Editing in Bacteria

2023
Base editing is a new genome editing technology that enables DNA base mutations without requiring double-stranded DNA backbone cleavage or a donor template. It has been widely used for genome engineering of eukaryotic and prokaryotic microorganisms.

Physically Based Video Editing

Computer Graphics Forum, 2016
AbstractConvincing manipulation of objects in live action videos is a difficult and often tedious task. Skilled video editors achieve this with the help of modern professional tools, but complex motions might still lack physical realism since existing tools do not consider the laws of physics.

Current knowledge of base editing and prime editing

Molekulârnaâ biologiâ
Modern genetic engineering technologies, such as base editing (BE) and prime editing (PE), have proven to be effective and reliable genome editing tools that do not require the introduction of double-strand breaks in DNA and the presence of donor templates.

Edit-Based Font Search

2016
This paper presents an interactive font search method for users who have no significant knowledge of fonts. The proposed method suggests some font candidates by deforming a displayed font image into a font resembling a user's desired font. Generally, font category names, font tags regarding human impressions such as "Cute", and a font list are used for

Engineering CjCas9 for Efficient Base Editing and Prime Editing

The CRISPR Journal
The CRISPR-Cas9 system has been applied for clinical applications of gene therapy. Most CRISPR-based gene therapies are derived from Streptococcus pyogenes Cas9, which is challenging to package into a single adeno-associated virus vector and limits its clinical applications.
