Synthesis and characterization of novel benzimidazole embedded 1,3,5-trisubstituted pyrazolines as antimicrobial agents [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Med. Chem. 51 (2008) 5243, Pharma Chem. 8 (2016) 425, RSC Adv. 6 (2016) 8303, Int. J. Mol. Sci. 13 (2012)16472, J. Chem. Res. 40 (2016) 228, 2020
Efficient syntheses of some new substituted pyrazoline derivatives linked to substituted benzimidazole scaffold were performed by multistep reaction sequences. All the synthesized compounds were characterized using elemental analysis and spectral studies (IR, 1D/2D NMR techniques and mass spectrometry). The synthesized compounds were screened for their

A bioassay for the detection of benzimidazoles reveals their presence in a range of environmental samples

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2014
Cobamides are a family of enzyme cofactors that include vitamin B12 (cobalamin) and are produced solely by prokaryotes. Structural variability in the lower axial ligand has been observed in cobamides produced by diverse organisms. Of the three classes of

α-Chymotrypsin-catalyzed synthesis of 2-substituted benzimidazole through retro-Claisen reaction

open access: yesGreen Chemistry Letters and Reviews, 2018
Benzimidazoles are important components of pharmaceutical compounds owing to their promising bioactivities. The green, safe, and efficient synthesis of benzimidazoles has always been one of the hot topics for chemical workers.

Kinetic Monte Carlo simulations of proton conductivity [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. E 90, 012135 (2014), 2014
The kinetic Monte Carlo method is used to model the dynamic properties of proton diffusion in anhydrous proton conductors. The results have been discussed with reference to a two-step process called the Grotthuss mechanism. There is a widespread belief that this mechanism is responsible for fast proton mobility.

Sub-lethal doses of albendazole induce drug metabolizing enzymes and increase albendazole deactivation in Haemonchus contortus adults

open access: yesVeterinary Research, 2020
The efficacy of anthelmintic therapy of farm animals rapidly decreases due to drug resistance development in helminths. In resistant isolates, the increased expression and activity of drug-metabolizing enzymes (DMEs), e.g.

The Highly Efficient Synthesis of 1,2-Disubstituted Benzimidazoles Using Microwave Irradiation

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
The benzimidazole ring of the heterocyclic pharmacophores is one of the most widespread and studied systems in nature. The benzimidazole derivative synthesis study is a crucial point for the development of a clinically available benzimidazole-based drug.

Numerical modeling of the heterocycle intercalated proton-conducting polymers at various mole ratios [PDF]

open access: yesSolid State Ionics 272, 166-169, 2015, 2014
The kinetic Monte Carlo simulations are employed to study the proton conductivity for anhydrous heterocyclic based polymers. The proton transport is based on a two-step process called the Grotthuss mechanism. In the referring system the proton concentration depends on the relative molar ratio, $x$, of the benzimidazole and the polystyrene sulfonic acid.

Narrowband terahertz radiation by an impulsive stimulated Raman scattering in an above-room-temperature organic ferroelectric benzimidazole [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. A 98, 013843 (2018), 2018
We observe a terahertz radiation from a hydrogen-bonded organic molecular ferroelectric 5,6-dichloro-2-methylbenzimidazole excited by a femtosecond laser pulse at room temperature. The emitted terahertz wave consists of three oscillatory components, the frequencies of which agree with those of Raman- and infrared-active phonon modes. This suggests that
