A cell-based assay for RNA synthesis by the HCV polymerase reveals new insights on mechanism of polymerase inhibitors and modulation by NS5A. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
RNA synthesis by the genotype 1b hepatitis C virus (HCV) polymerase (NS5B) transiently expressed in Human embryonic kidney 293T cells or liver hepatocytes was found to robustly stimulate RIG-I-dependent luciferase production from the interferon β ...

Anti-HIV-1 Activity of Benzothiadiazine Dioxide [PDF]

open access: greenAntiviral Chemistry and Chemotherapy, 2001
Antiviral assays carried out on the potent benzothiadiazine dioxide (BTD) human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) inhibitors have led us to find marginal but selective anti-HIV-1 activity. Specific pharmacological studies, such as time of addition experiments and assays on specific viral strains with mutations on its reverse transcriptase, have indicated that ...

In Silico Drug Design of Benzothiadiazine Derivatives Interacting with Phospholipid Cell Membranes [PDF]

open access: yesMembranes, 2022
The use of drugs derived from benzothiadiazine, a bicyclic heterocyclic benzene derivative, has become a widespread treatment for diseases such as hypertension, low blood sugar or the human immunodeficiency virus, among others.

A short, versatile route towards benzothiadiazinyl radicals. [PDF]

open access: yesChem Sci, 2021
A family of substituted 1,2,4-benzothiadiazine 1-chlorides have been prepared by treatment of N-arylamidines in neat thionyl chloride at reflux. The S(IV) 1-chlorides are readily reduced under mild conditions to persistent 1,2,4- benzothiadiazinyl ...

Molecular modeling studies, synthesis, configurational stability and biological activity of 8-chloro-2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-3,6-dimethyl-pyrrolo[1,2,3-de]-1,2,4-benzothiadiazine 1,1-dioxide [PDF]

open access: green, 2011
The potential therapeutic benefit of compounds able to activate AMPA receptors (AMPArs) has led to a search for new AMPAr positive modulators. Among them, 8-chloro-2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-3,6-dimethyl-pyrrolo[1,2,3-de]-1,2,4-benzothiadiazine 1,1-dioxide (1 ...

COMBINATORIAL PHARMACOPHORE MODELING AND ATOM BASED 3D QSAR STUDIES OF BENZOTHIADIAZINES AS HCV-NS5B INHIBITORS [PDF]

open access: diamond, 2018
Objective: The objective of the current study was to elucidate the 3D pharmacophoric features of benzothiadiazine derivatives that are crucial for inhibiting Hepatitis C virus (HCV) Non-structural protein 5B (NS5B) and quantifying the features by ...

Effects of benzothiadiazine drugs on carbohydrate metabolism [PDF]

open access: greenMetabolism, 1965
Abstract The administration of chlorothiazide both to man and to rats results in hyperglycemia following a glucose load. Its administration to rats causes a decreased rate of glucose utilization by their adipose tissue in vitro. Chlorothiazide added directly to the incubating medium also decreases the rate of glucose utilization of rat adipose tissue.
