In Silico Drug Design of Benzothiadiazine Derivatives Interacting with Phospholipid Cell Membranes [PDF]
The use of drugs derived from benzothiadiazine, a bicyclic heterocyclic benzene derivative, has become a widespread treatment for diseases such as hypertension, low blood sugar or the human immunodeficiency virus, among others.

BTDAzo: A Photoswitchable TRPC5 Channel Activator. [PDF]
The TRPs (Transient Receptor Potentials) are important sensory ion channels with roles in perception including of heat, cold, and electrophiles, as well as in signaling and mineralostasis. Here the first photopharmaceutical TRPC5 ligand, BTDAzo, is developed, which achieves outstanding photoswitchability of TRPC5 currents in physiological models ...

Synthesis and In Vitro Antileishmanial Efficacy of Novel Ethylene Glycol Analogues of Benzothiadiazine-1,1-dioxide. [PDF]
Abstract Leishmaniasis is a vector‐borne, parasitic disease affecting millions of people and animals worldwide. Current therapeutic options have proven to be ineffective in both treating the disease and preventing its spread. As a result, new drugs must be developed to effectively combat this disease.

A cell-based assay for RNA synthesis by the HCV polymerase reveals new insights on mechanism of polymerase inhibitors and modulation by NS5A. [PDF]
RNA synthesis by the genotype 1b hepatitis C virus (HCV) polymerase (NS5B) transiently expressed in Human embryonic kidney 293T cells or liver hepatocytes was found to robustly stimulate RIG-I-dependent luciferase production from the interferon β ...

Substituted tricyclic and tetracyclic benzothiadiazines were synthesized in this paper, were synthesized via metal‐free intramolecular N‐iodosuccinimide (NIS)‐mediated radical oxidative sp3‐C‐H activation aminative cyclization. Docking studies of the tricyclic and angular tetracyclic 1,2,4‐benzothiadizine dioxides 26–34 and intermediates were carried ...

A case of insulinoma effectively treated with low‐dose diazoxide
Diazoxide is a benzothiadiazine that can be effective in managing hypoglycemia in frail patients with surgical risk. We report here a case of insulinoma effectively treated with diazoxide, as our report will be helpful for similar cases. Abstract Diazoxide is a benzothiadiazine that can be effective in managing hypoglycemia in frail patients with ...

Effects of benzothiadiazine drugs on carbohydrate metabolism [PDF]
Abstract The administration of chlorothiazide both to man and to rats results in hyperglycemia following a glucose load. Its administration to rats causes a decreased rate of glucose utilization by their adipose tissue in vitro. Chlorothiazide added directly to the incubating medium also decreases the rate of glucose utilization of rat adipose tissue.
