Benzothiazines in organic synthesis. Synthesis of fluorescent 7-amino-2,1-benzothiazines

Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry, 2011
Fluorescent 7-amino-2,1-benzothiazines were prepared in high yields using the palladium-catalyzed reaction of 4-amino-2-chlorobenzaldehydes with a sulfoximine or the reaction of 7-fluoro-2,1-benzothiazines with amines.

A Straightforward Synthesis of Benzothiazines

Organic Letters, 2008
A series of 4H-3,1-benzothiazines have been successfully synthesized through a three-step sequence starting from commercially available 2-iodoaniline. The key step consists of the cyclization of compounds 6 via an intramolecular S-conjugate addition. The synthesis is straightforward, gives good yields and offers a broad range of possibilities since R ...

A novel photoisomerzation of 1,2‐benzothiazine 1,1‐dioxides to 1,3‐benzothiazine 1,1‐dioxides

Journal of Heterocyclic Chemistry, 2007
AbstractA novel facile photoconversion of 4‐hydroxy‐1,2‐bezothiazine 1,1‐dioxides (3a‐e) into 4‐oxo‐1,3‐2H‐benzothiazine 1,1‐dioxides (4a‐e) and 4‐hydroxy‐2‐methyl‐N‐(pyridin‐2‐yl)‐2H‐1,2‐benzothiazine‐3‐carboxamide 1,1‐dioxide (PRX) into N‐methyl saccharin (2) upon 254 nm irradiation in methanol or acetonitrile is reported.

Benzothiazines in Organic Synthesis. Stereoselectivity in the Intermolecular Michael Addition Reactions of Benzothiazines

Organic Letters, 2007
A study of the intermolecular Michael addition of certain benzothiazine anions demonstrated that stereoselectivity could be extremely high, though achieving control over the direction of relative stereoselectivity was in general not straightforward.

Rearrangement of benzothiazine sulphoxides

Journal of the Chemical Society D: Chemical Communications, 1970
The reaction of substituted benzothiazine sulphoxides with Ac2O under reflux leads by an elimination reaction to a sulphenic acid derivative which undergoes subsequent addition to the generated double bond if the nitrogen is tertiary but is trapped as a cyclic sulphenamide by a secondary nitrogen.

1,4-Benzothiazines, Dihydro-1,4-benzothiazines, and Related Compounds.

1985
Publisher Summary The benzothiazines constitute a group of heterocyclic compounds; they have found a variety of industrial uses and show promise as herbicides. This chapter discusses the chemistry of 1,4-benzothiazines and dihydro-1,4-benzothiazines. The 1,4-benzothiazine ring is the basic unit for the phaeomelanins and trichochrome melanin pigments ...
