Further Insights Into the Metabolism of LGD‐4033 in Human Urine. Part 1. Structure Elucidation of Additional Important Metabolites

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, Volume 18, Issue 2, Page 245-259, February 2026.
Well‐characterized, chemically synthesized molecules related to LGD‐4033 metabolism were used as analytical standards for the analysis of LGD‐4033 post‐administration urine samples. This approach offered further insights into LGD‐4033 metabolism, providing solid experimental proof for the structure of important previously reported metabolites and ...

Evaluating the Effect of Therapeutic Antibiotics in Prosthetic Joint Infections Culturing: A Narrative Review

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims One of the important complications of knee and hip replacement arthroplasty is prosthetic joint infection (PJI), which is usually accompanied by negative culture that leads to severe consequences compared to positive ones. This study aims to evaluate the arbitrary use or mistreatment of antibiotics for therapeutic purposes ...

The Burden of Antimicrobial‐Resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa Isolates in Children With Cystic Fibrosis: Molecular Characterization and Genotyping Analysis

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 1, February 2026.
This study highlights the prevalence of multidrug‐ and carbapenem‐resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa in pediatric cystic fibrosis patients, along with the presence of carbapenemase‐encoding genes and genetic profiles, suggesting clonal spread. These findings underscore the urgent need for surveillance and strategies to combat resistant strains and ...

Septic Shock Caused by Coinfection of Shewanella algae Bloodstream Infection and Epstein‐Barr Virus: Clinical Characteristics and Genomic Analysis

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 1, February 2026.
This study reports a septic shock case in inland China caused by coinfection of Shewanella algae bloodstream infection and Epstein‐Barr virus. Genomic analysis revealed freshwater adaptation of the strain via unique genes for transporters and carbohydrate‐active enzymes.
