Bioavailability and biodistribution of nanodelivered lutein
Food Chemistry, 2016The aim of the study was to evaluate the ability of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles (NP) to enhance lutein bioavailability. The bioavailability of free lutein and PLGA-NP lutein in rats was assessed by determining plasma pharmacokinetics and deposition in selected tissues. Lutein uptake and secretion was also assessed in Caco-2 cells.

Scintigraphic visualization of intrathecal liposome biodistribution [PDF]
Background: Liposomes containing local anaesthetics have been administered intrathecally and in the epidural space. Poor attention has been given to the pharmacokinetics of liposomes as drug carriers. Therefore, we observed the biodistribution of liposomes after intrathecal injection in rats by scintigraphic imaging during 24 h.Methods: We administered

Biodistribution of phosphodiester and phosphorothioate siRNA
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2004Short interfering RNAs (siRNAs) are valuable tools for analyzing protein function in mammalian cell culture. This success has led to high expectations for in vivo and therapeutic applications. However, the pharmacokinetic properties of siRNA are not known.

In VivoBiodistribution of Nanoparticles
Nanomedicine, 2011Nanoparticles have potential applications in diagnostics, imaging, gene and drug delivery and other types of therapy. Iron oxide nanoparticles, gold nanoparticles and quantum dots have all generated substantial interest and their properties and applications have been thoroughly studied. Yet, metal-containing particles raise biodistribution and toxicity

Biodistribution and toxicity of gold nanoparticles
Nanotechnologies in Russia, 2011This paper reviews data on the biodistribution and toxicity of five types of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) (atomic clusters and colloidal particles with diameters of 1 to 200 nm, gold nanorods (GNRs), silica/gold nanoshells (GNSs), hollow GNSs, and nanowires) in in vivo and in vitro experiments.

Biodistribution and Shedding of AAV Vectors
2011Determining the AAV vector biodistribution and shedding is central for the safety assessment of proposed early-phase clinical trials. It is especially crucial in the case of AAV vectors since they are injected directly in situ with no possibility of an intermediate ex vivo step, such as in retroviral-mediated approaches.

Radioiodinated cyclosporin A: Preparation and biodistribution
The International Journal of Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 1980Abstract A simple rapid procedure, using chloramine T, has been developed for labelling Cyclosporin A with 123 I or 125 I. The labelling yield exceeds 95% and the radioiodinated product is not decomposed after sterilization by autoclaving. Biodistribution studies in rats show that the radioiodinated Cyclosporin A is rapidly taken up by the liver ...

The Biodistribution of Radiocopper-Labeled Compounds
1989Porphyrins form extremely stable chelates with Cu2+. Two copper radionuclides, 67Cu and 64Cu, have attractive nuclear decay properties for use in nuclear medicine applications. We have investigated the use of radiocopper-labeled porphyrins for localization in inflamed tissue and for attachment to antibodies for tumor imaging and therapy.

Biodistribution and Pharmacokinetics of Antimicrobials
2017Inadequate drug concentrations in target tissues can lead to treatment failure and/or selection of drug-resistant organisms. Additionally, altered pharmacokinetics in diseased patients may elevate tissue drug levels leading to organ toxicity or failure.
