Thermally Modulated Metasurface Sensor for Dynamic and Time‐Resolved Isolation of Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A thermally adaptive plasmonic metasurface, functionalized with poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) and anti‐CD63 antibodies, enables precise, on‐demand capture and release of extracellular vesicles (EVs). Delivering high recovery, improved purity, and intact vesicle structure, the platform offers a versatile, label‐free solution for real‐time EV ...

Changes in TFAM binding at both origins of mitochondrial DNA replication are involved in the mitochondrial biogenesis alterations related to aging and calorie restriction in rat liver

open access: yes, 2013
Mitochondrial biogenesis is among the organelle’s features affected by aging in tissue-specific ways. The only intervention, so far, able to delay or prevent the onset of several age-related changes, also in mitochondria, is calorie restriction (CR ...

Yeast Rrp8p, a novel methyltransferase responsible for m1A 645 base modification of 25S rRNA

open access: yes, 2012
Ribosomal RNA undergoes various modifications to optimize ribosomal structure and expand the topological potential of RNA. The most common nucleotide modifications in ribosomal RNA (rRNA) are pseudouridylations and 2'-O methylations (Nm), performed by H ...

Chromosomal Instability Drives Glioblastoma Heterogeneity and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Glioblastoma, the most aggressive and lethal form of brain cancer, is defined by profound genomic instability, with Chromosomal Instability (CIN) playing a central role in driving tumor progression, therapy resistance, and poor prognosis. CIN is characterized by numerical and structural alterations, is driven by mechanisms such as mitotic ...

NIBV Induces Incomplete Autophagy via AMPK‐TFEB, Causing Kidney Injury in Chicks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that NIBV can inhibit the nuclear translocation of TFEB by suppressing the expression of AMPK, leading to the blockade of autophagolysosomal functions, in turn increasing NIBV replication and triggering severe kidney injury in chicks.

Extracellular vesicles in mycobacteria: new findings in biogenesis, host-pathogen interactions, and diagnostics

open access: yesmBio
Since the discovery of extracellular vesicles (EVs) in mycobacterial species 15 years back, we have learned that this phenomenon is conserved in the Mycobacterium genus and has critical roles in bacterial physiology and host-pathogen interactions ...
