A functional RNase P protein subunit of bacterial origin in some eukaryotes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
RNase P catalyzes 5′-maturation of tRNAs. While bacterial RNase P comprises an RNA catalyst and a protein cofactor, the eukaryotic (nuclear) variant contains an RNA and up to ten proteins, all unrelated to the bacterial protein.

Mass Spectrometry Imaging‐Assisted Discovery of Gallotannin Biosynthetic Genes in the Root of Paeonia suffruticosa

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrated approach combining mass spectrometry imaging, transcriptomics, and phylogenetic analysis facilitated the efficient identification of genes involved in gallotannin biosynthesis in Paeonia suffruticosa. As a result, a key UGT and several SCPL acyltransferases responsible for biosynthesizing pentagalloylglucose were successfully identified ...

Activation of the Glutamic Acid-Dependent Acid Resistance System in Escherichia coli BL21(DE3) Leads to Increase of the Fatty Acid Biotransformation Activity. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
The biosynthesis of carboxylic acids including fatty acids from biomass is central in envisaged biorefinery concepts. The productivities are often, however, low due to product toxicity that hamper whole-cell biocatalyst performance.

NPM1 Mediates mRNA Sorting into Extracellular Vesicles via Specific RNA Motif Binding and Phase Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NPM1 selectively sorts specific mRNAs into extracellular vesicles (EVs) by recognizing RNA motifs and forming phase‐separated condensates. These mRNA cargos—including EGFR—are then loaded via multivesicular bodies. This active sorting pathway, validated in EVs derived from both lung cancer cells and patient serum, reveals a specific mechanism for ...

Function of the Signal Peptide and N- and C-terminal Propeptides in the Leucine Aminopeptidase from \u3cem\u3eAeromonas proteolytica\u3c/em\u3e [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The leucine aminopeptidase from Aeromonas proteolytica (also known as Vibrio proteolyticus) (AAP) is a metalloenzyme with broad substrate specificity. The open reading frame (ORF) for AAP encodes a 54 kDa enzyme, however, the extracellular enzyme has a ...

A Testis‐Specific Aralkylamine N‐Acetyltransferase Regulates Dimorphic Sperm Function and Male Fertility in Moths

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identify a Lepidoptera‐conserved testis‐specific arylalkylamine N‐acetyltransferase (LTNAT) that governs male moth fertility via a novel mechanism. LTNAT loss disrupts eupyrene sperm mitochondrial derivatives and impairs apyrene sperm motility, offering a safe molecular target for innovative pesticides and genetic pest control.

TRANSFORMASI PLASMID YANG MENGANDUNG GEN merB PADA Escherichia coli BL21(DE3)

open access: yesPHARMACON, 2019
ABSTRACTDNA transformation is one of the methods for inserting DNA into bacterial cells. The current transformation method is widely used to transfer plasmids containing genetic material. This study aims to evaluate the results of plasmid transformation containing merB gene in Escherichia coli BL21(DE3) bacteria.
