Molecular detection of Enterobacteriaceae isolates producing blaOXA-48 and blaOXA-181 genes: A single centre study.

The Malaysian journal of pathology, 2020
OXA-48, a carbapenem-hydrolysing class D β-lactamase, and its variant, OXA-181, are increasingly reported worldwide. This study aimed to describe the prevalence and distribution of OXA-48 and OXA-181 carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) in a tertiary medical centre in Malaysia.A total of 13,098 Enterobacteriaceae isolates from various clinical

Multihospital Occurrence of Pan-Resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae Sequence Type 147 with an ISEcp1-Directed blaOXA-181 Insertion in the mgrB Gene in the United Arab Emirates.

Antimicrobial agents and chemotherapy, 2018
The emergence of pan-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae strains is an increasing concern. In the present study, we describe a cluster of 9 pan-resistant K. pneumoniae sequence type 147 (ST147) isolates encountered in 4 patients over nearly 1 year in 3 hospitals of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The isolates exhibited highly similar genotypes.

Prevalence of Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamase and Carbapenemase Genes in Clinical Isolates of Escherichia coli in Myanmar: Dominance of blaNDM-5 and Emergence of blaOXA-181.

Microbial drug resistance (Larchmont, N.Y.), 2019
The increasing trend of Escherichia coli producing extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs) and carbapenemases is a global public health concern. In this study, prevalence and molecular characteristics of E. coli harboring ESBL and carbapenemase genes were investigated for 426 isolates derived from various clinical specimens in a teaching hospital in ...
