Genotypes and Phenotypes of Patients With TSPEAR‐Related Disorder: Evidence of a Predominant Dental Phenotype

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, Volume 200, Issue 4, Page 790-799, April 2026.
ABSTRACT TSPEAR (chr. 21q22.3) encodes a protein involved in tooth development and is predominantly expressed in the enamel knot. Biallelic loss of function variants in TSPEAR cause ectodermal dysplasia, tooth agenesis and sensorineural hearing loss. However, the role of TSPEAR in auditory processes is unclear.

Geleophysic Dysplasia Associated With FBN1 Mutation: Clinical Course, Valvular Heart Disease, and Response to Recombinant Human Growth Hormone Therapy

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Geleophysic dysplasia (GD) is a rare genetic condition caused by pathogenic variants in either the ADAMTSL2 or FBN1 gene. We present a patient that combined clinical features consistent with GD, including short stature, delayed bone age, progressive congenital heart disease, and a happy, round face.

Adventitial Niches, Complement and Inflammation in Pulmonary Vascular Disease: Current Status and Future Directions

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 2, April 2026.
Local complement production by pulmonary artery adventitial fibroblasts, activated intracellularly by CFD and CFB and extracellularly by GZMK+ CD8 T cells, and its secretion in soluble form and within EVs promotes macrophage and T cell chemotaxis and activation.

The Importance of Liver‐Lung Communication in Pulmonary Vascular Diseases

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 2, April 2026.
Schematic depicting the key drivers of liver‐lung communication in pulmonary vascular diseases, including hepatic dysfunction, portosystemic shunting, and gut microbial dysbiosis, which together drive pulmonary vascular remodeling. ABSTRACT In normal health, the liver and lungs enjoy a close anatomic, physiologic, and functional relationship.

Bone Morphogenetic Proteins

Growth Factors, 2003
Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are multi-functional growth factors that belong to the transforming growth factor beta (TGFbeta) superfamily. The roles of BMPs in embryonic development and cellular functions in postnatal and adult animals have been extensively studied in recent years. Signal transduction studies have revealed that Smad1, 5 and 8 are

Bone morphogenetic proteins

Genes and Function, 1997
The concept that there is a substance in bone that can induce new-bone formation has been discussed for many years. However, the credit for the discovery of bone morphogenetic protein goes to Marshall R. Urist, who, in 1965, demonstrated the formation of bone by a process that he called autoinduction.

Bone morphogenetic protein

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2007
Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are multi-functional growth factors belonging to the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily. It has been demonstrated that BMPs had been involved in the regulation of cell proliferation, survival, differentiation and apoptosis.

Bone morphogenetic protein.

Journal of neurosurgery. Spine, 2009
Although the authors used the same interbody spacers and even higher dose of rhBMP-2 (than the dose of rhBMP-2 was used in another report in which incidence of the resorptions after interbody fusions assisted with rhBMP-2 was 100%) there was no resorptions in their study. We asked for the authors' clarification of the strange phenomenon.

Bone Morphogenetic Protein

Journal of Dental Research, 1971
Bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) made by the process comprising the steps of demineralizing bone tissue; treating the demineralized bone tissue under aqueous conditions with a water soluble neutral salt and a solubilizing agent for the BMP, the agent being selected from the group consisting of urea and guanidine, and thereby transforming the bone ...
