Antifungal Susceptibility of Clinically Isolated Candida albicans by Broth Microdilution Method

open access: yesJournal of the Japanese Association for Infectious Diseases, 1998
In this study we investigated the antifungal susceptibility of 285 strains of Candida albicans isolates at Kinki University Hospital from March 1995 to December 1996. The antifungal agents tested were fluconazole, miconazole, intraconazole, amphotericin B and flucytosine.

Comparison of antimicrobial susceptibilities of Corynebacterium species by broth microdilution and disk diffusion methods [PDF]

open access: yesAntimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, 1996
Corynebacterium species are increasingly being implicated in foreign-body infections and in immunocompromised-host infections. However, there are no specific recommendations on the method or the criteria to use in order to determine the in vitro activities of the antibiotics commonly used to treat Corynebacterium infections.

Analysis of antibiotic sensitivity of clinical strains of microorganisms with the Russian Mueller–Hinton broth

open access: yesЖурнал микробиологии, эпидемиологии и иммунобиологии
Introduction. One of the reasons for spreading antibiotic-resistant microorganisms is the uncontrolled use and inadequate empirical prescription of antibiotics which is not based on the results of the pathogen sensitivity testing.

Evaluation of CLSI Agar Dilution Method and Trek Sensititre Broth Microdilution Panel for Determining Antimicrobial Susceptibility of Streptococcus pneumoniae

open access: yes, 2011
Both the CLSI agar dilution method and Trek Sensititre broth microdilution panel for Streptococcus pneumoniae antimicrobial susceptibility testing were evaluated against the reference CLSI broth microdilution method using the most

Bacteria‐Responsive Nanostructured Drug Delivery Systems for Targeted Antimicrobial Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bacteria‐responsive nanocarriers are designed to release antimicrobials only in the presence of infection‐specific cues. This selective activation ensures drug release precisely at the site of infection, avoiding premature or indiscriminate release, and enhancing efficacy.

Susceptibility Testing of Malassezia Species Using the Urea Broth Microdilution Method [PDF]

open access: yesAntimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, 2000
ABSTRACT A urea broth microdilution method to assay the susceptibilities of seven Malassezia species was developed. This method indicated the same sensitivities as the agar plate dilution method for isolates of Malassezia furfur , M. pachydermatis ,

Stabilization of tigecycline solutions during susceptibility testing of microorganisms by broth microdilution method

open access: yesЖурнал микробиологии, эпидемиологии и иммунобиологии
Introduction. Tigecycline is widely used in the treatment of infections, leading to the emergence of resistant bacteria. Determining susceptibility by broth microdilution method is recommended to be conducted using freshly prepared Mueller–Hinton broth ...

BioEISense: A Microfluidic Platform for Real‐Time Monitoring of Staphylococcus aureus Biofilm Formation and the Efficacy of Antibiofilm Agents

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
BioEISense is a microfluidic device with integrated impedance sensors, for real‐time, label‐free monitoring of S. aureus biofilms. In this study, the biofilm culture conditions were optimized to support sensitive and reproducible detection of biofilm formation and eradication under dynamic flow‐through conditions. The system was also validated for both

Stress History Establishes a Transient Tolerant State That Shapes Antibiotic Survival Upon Resuscitation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High‐throughput single‐cell analysis of resuscitating bacteria reveals a starvation‐history‐dependent transiently tolerant subpopulation that survives β$\beta$‐lactam exposure by temporarily reducing growth. Distinct from classical persisters, these actively growing yet dynamically modulated cells dominate survival across clinically relevant antibiotic
