Combined Immunotherapy With Belatacept and BTLA Overexpression Attenuates Acute Rejection Following Kidney Transplantation

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
BackgroundCostimulatory blockade provides new therapeutic opportunities for ensuring the long-term survival of kidney grafts. The adoption of the novel immunosuppressant Belatacept has been limited, partly due to concerns regarding higher rates and ...

Tumor Plasticity and Microenvironmental Crosstalk as Drivers of Metastasis and Therapy Resistance

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
The graphical abstract is a schematic illustration of the bidirectional crosstalk between tumor plasticity and the tumor microenvironment (TME) in driving metastasis and therapy resistance. Tumor‐intrinsic factors such as genetic mutations and epigenetic reprogramming enable dynamic transitions between epithelial, mesenchymal, and cancer stem cell ...

Expression of BTLA on peripheral T cells.

open access: yes, 2016
T cells of RA patients and healthy controls ran in different times, so the same color might stand for different subtypes of T cells. Dots above to the horizontal line stood for BTLA+ T cells, inferior to the horizontal line stood for BTLA- T cells, right

A cDC1‐NK/T‐Malignant Cell Circuit Drives Immunogenic Remodeling Under PD‐1 Blockade in Gastric Cancer

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 8, Page 2098-2114, August 2026.
Chemotherapy combined with nivolumab reshapes the gastric cancer tumor microenvironment (TME) and is accompanied by an enrichment of reduced cytotoxicity NK (RC‐NK) cells. Rather than acting as classical cytotoxic effectors, these RC‐NK cells appear to shape the TME by promoting an immunostimulatory circuit that engages adaptive immunity.

Adenovirus-Mediated CCR7 and BTLA Overexpression Enhances Immune Tolerance and Migration in Immature Dendritic Cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Our previous report revealed that immature dendritic cells (imDCs) with adenovirus-mediated CCR7 overexpression acquired an enhanced migratory ability but also exhibited the lower immune tolerance observed in more mature cells.

The Expression of BTLA Was Increased and the Expression of HVEM and LIGHT Were Decreased in the T Cells of Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis [corrected].

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
BackgroundCurrently, the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is not clearly understood. The LIGHT/HVEM/BTLA co-signaling pathway may be involved in the pathogenesis of RA, although reports on the expression levels of LIGHT, HVEM and BTLA in T ...

CCT7 Expression Affects the Prognosis of Lung Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 9, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background CCT7 is a chaperonin containing tailless complex polypeptide 1 subunit. The study focused on investigating its prognostic significance for lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). Methods CCT7 expression in LUAD and matched non‐carcinoma lung samples was examined via TCGA database. Besides, we utilized the GEO database and RT‐qPCR for validating

Comparison of Human Melanoma Single Cell Profiles to Evolutionary Medicine Model Xiphophorus Provides Insights in Disease Control

open access: yesPigment Cell &Melanoma Research, Volume 39, Issue 4, July 2026.
Single‐nucleus RNA sequencing analysis of Xiphophorus melanoma, an evolutionary medicine model, revealed cellular heterogeneity that closely mirrors that of human melanoma. Immune and tumor cell subtyping identified an immune‐evasive tumor microenvironment. This melanoma cell atlas provides a framework for investigating conserved cellular and molecular

PD-1 and BTLA regulate T cell signaling differentially and only partially through SHP1 and SHP2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Blockade antibodies of the immunoinhibitory receptor PD-1 can stimulate the anti-tumor activity of T cells, but clinical benefit is limited to a fraction of patients. Evidence suggests that BTLA, a receptor structurally related to PD-1, may contribute to

PD‐1 Inhibits CD4+ TRM‐Mediated cDC1 Mobilization via Suppressing JAML in Human NSCLC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 35, 24 June 2026.
CD4+ tissue‐resident memory T cells (TRMs) in non‐small cell lung cancer recruit conventional type 1 dendritic cells via XCL1‐XCR1 signaling, orchestrating antitumor immunity. The costimulatory molecule JAML is essential for this process. PD‐1 blockade restores JAML expression and cDC1 mobilization, while JAML agonists synergize with anti‐PD‐1 therapy,
