Impact of Heated Versus Unheated Cooking Oil on Postprandial Vascular Function and Metabolism

open access: yesLipids, Volume 61, Issue 5, Page 555-562, September 2026.
ABSTRACT The impact of repeated heating of seed‐based culinary oils on cardiometabolic health has not been well established. Heating oils to high temperatures (> 150°C) causes lipid peroxidation, thus generating potentially harmful compounds that may impair vascular function. This randomized, single‐blind, crossover study investigated the acute effects

Tissue distribution, accumulation, and biotransformation of butylated hydroxytoluene in adult zebrafish (Danio rerio)

open access: yesEnvironmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology
As a widely used synthetic phenolic antioxidant (SPA), butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) has been frequently detected in aquatic ecosystem. In organisms, BHT undergoes species-dependent biotransformation which can influence its toxicity. Despite data on its

Amino Acid‐Based Thermoplastic Polyurethanes for Pelvic Floor Tissue Scaffolds

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 9, September 2026.
This work presents a biocompatible and biodegradable amino acid‐based thermoplastic polyurethane synthesized at different reaction times. The TPUs were characterized to build an understanding of the material and processed into aligned porous foams with biomimetic mechanical properties to demonstrate potential as pelvic floor tissue scaffolds.

EFFECT OF ANTIOXIDANTS AND FUNGISTATIC AGENTS ON RANCIDITY IN DRIED SPLIT-SALTED BISUGO (Nemipterus taeniopterus Cuvier and Valencienes)

open access: yesAnnals of Tropical Research, 1982
The effects of antioxidants butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) and propyl gallate (PG) and fungistatic agents potassium sorbate, sodium propionate and sodium benzoate on the stability of dried bisugo against oxidative ...

Properties of Liquid Crystalline Elastomer Foams

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, Volume 47, Issue 18, 21 September 2026.
Controlled foaming of liquid crystalline elastomers (LCE) with expandable microspheres creates particle‐centred mesogenic interphases that enhance viscoelastic dissipation at low bubble fractions. Under impact, optimal damping shifts to moderate porosity, balancing interphase loss, bubble compression, compliance, and integrity.

The Effect of Orally Administered Butylated Hydroxytoluene on Herpes Simplex Keratitis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
Some studies have reported in vitro inactivation of membrane enveloped viruses by Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT). This study investigates the effect of orally administered BHT on primary infections of Herpes simplex virus (HSV) using rabbit corneas as ...
