Ischemia–Reperfusion Injury: Molecular Mechanisms and Therapeutic Interventions
Multiorgan ischemia–reperfusion injury begins with ischemia‐induced ATP depletion and ionic imbalance, followed by reperfusion‐triggered mitochondrial ROS/RNS bursts, regulated cell death, and DAMP release. Sterile inflammation converges on endothelial–immune–coagulation crosstalk, where NETs drive immunothrombosis, no‐reflow, and remote organ injury ...

Abstract Endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) occurs when the protein‐folding capacity of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is overwhelmed, triggering the unfolded protein response (UPR) to restore homeostasis. However, severe or persistent ERS can shift the UPR toward pro‐inflammatory, apoptotic, and fibrotic signaling, thereby exacerbating tissue injury ...

Evidence for a Two‐Step Model for Activation of GPR25 by the Chemoattractant CXCL17
ABSTRACT CXCL17 was recently reported to activate GPR25, a receptor expressed by T‐regulatory cells. Although classified as a chemokine, the activity of CXCL17 is ablated by minor C‐terminal truncation, suggesting a novel mode of receptor activation. We set out to test this hypothesis by mutagenesis. GPR25 was expressed in the murine pre‐B cell line L1.

Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease and Cancer
ABSTRACT Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and cancer are increasingly recognized as interconnected diseases linked by shared immune mechanisms rather than merely overlapping risk factors. Common exposures such as smoking, obesity, diabetes, and dyslipidemia, together with aging and clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP ...

Inflammatory Stewardship—A Perspective for Active Management of Acute Inflammation
Inflammatory stewardship frames inflammation as a manageable clinical domain requiring explicit strategy, governance, and feedback. It aligns diagnostics, risk stratification, biomarker interpretation, and immunomodulatory decisions across perioperative and critical‐care teams.
