Inhibitory mechanism of xanthine oxidase activity by caffeoylquinic acids in vitro
International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2021In this study, the inhibitory activities of eight caffeoylquinic acids (CQAs) against xanthine oxidase (XOD) in vitro were investigated, and the interaction mechanisms between each compound and XOD were studied. HPLC and fluorescence spectra showed that the inhibitory activities of dicaffeoylquinic acids (diCQAs) were higher than that of ...

[Advances in caffeoylquinic acid research].
Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 2007This paper reviewed updated research progresses of caffeoylquinic acids both in phytochemical and pharmacological aspects. The resources, distribution as well as the chemical structures of monocaffeoylquinic acids, dicaffeoylquinic acids, tricaffeoylquinic acids and multicaffeoylquinic acids are conclusively analyzed.

Caffeoylquinic Acids and Some Biological Activities ofPluchea symphytifolia
Planta Medica, 1994From the aerial parts of Pluchea symphytifolia, four known and two new caffeoylquinic acids, 1,3,4,5-tetra-O-caffeoylquinic acid and 1,3-di-O-[3,4,-bis-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-cyclobutane-1,2-dicarbonyl]- 4,5-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid, and two flavonols were isolated and their structures elucidated by mass and NMR spectroscopy and by chemical degradation.

A comparative genotoxicity study of chlorogenic acid (3-O-caffeoylquinic acid)
Mutation Research/Genetic Toxicology, 1981Chlorogenic acid, a compound which occurs naturally in many food items, was assayed for genotoxic activity in 3 different test systems: reverse mutations in the preincubation test with Salmonella typhimurium, gene conversion with Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain D7, and chromosome aberrations in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells.

[Caffeoylquinic acid derivatives from the seeds of Vernonia anthelmintica].
Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 2012Mature seeds of Vernonia anthelmintica were separated and purified by using such methods as macroporous absorption resin, Sephadex LH-20 and HPLC preparative chromatography. Six compounds were obtained and their structures were identified by such spectrum techniques as 1H, 13C-NMR and MS.

Current Advances in Naturally Occurring Caffeoylquinic Acids: Structure, Bioactivity, and Synthesis
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2020Caffeoylquinic acids (CQAs) are a broad class of secondary metabolites that have been found in edible and medicinal plants from various families. It has been 100 years since the discovery of chlorogenic acid in 1920. In recent years, a number of naturally derived CQAs have been isolated and structurally elucidated. Accumulated evidence demonstrate that

Antioxidant and Biocompatible 5‐O‐Caffeoylquinic Acid‐Based Composite Materials
Macromolecular Symposia, 2020AbstractSilica/5‐O‐caffeoylquinic acid hybrid materials are synthetized via sol–gel route, obtaining new biomaterials able to preserve the antioxidant capability of the natural nutraceutical phenol compound. The materials are chemically characterized through FT‐IR and UV spectroscopy, whereas their bioactivity is ascertained by both scanning electron ...

Comparative study of the antioxidative activities of caffeoylquinic and caffeic acids
Food Chemistry, 2016A detailed conformational analysis was performed to determine the most stable conformers of chlorogenic, cryptochlorogenic, and neochlorogenic acids. The simulated and experimental NMR spectra of caffeoylquinic acids are in excellent agreement. The bond dissociation enthalpies, proton affinities, electron transfer enthalpies, ionisation potentials, and

The Content of Individual Caffeoylquinic Acids in Edible Vegetables
Journal of Food Composition and Analysis, 1999Abstract The presence of 3-, 4-caffeoylquinic acid (CQA) isomers and 3,4-, 3,5-, 4,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid (diCQA) isomers was not detected in the vegetables studied. The content of 5-CQA was then evaluated in 14 edible vegetables. The highest mean value was found in the sweet potato (22.20 mg%).
