Neuroplasticity‐Driven Mechanisms and Therapeutic Targets in the Anterior Cingulate Cortex in Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
The anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), as the center for pain and emotion integration, causes integration disorders due to excessive synaptic strengthening and glial cell inflammation/synaptic pruning dysregulation. However, traditional drugs have insufficient targeting, and closed‐loop DBS improves symptoms by precisely regulating ACC.

Histone 3 Hyperacetylation and the Aggressive Behavior of Giant Cell Lesions

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2026.
Acetylation of Histone H3 at Lysine 9 (H3K9) was determined in Peripheral Giant Cell Granuloma (PGCG), Non‐aggressive Central Giant Cell Granuloma (NAg CGCG), Aggressive Central Giant Cell Granuloma (Ag CGCG), and Giant Cell Tumor of Bone (GCTB). H3K9 hyperacetylation correlated with the aggressive behavior of Giant Cell Lesions.

Antinociceptive Effect of Cinnamaldehyde in Male Mice: Investigation of the Mechanisms of Action Through In Silico and In Vivo Approaches

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Cinnamaldehyde (CA), a major component of Cinnamomum spp. essential oils, has recognized bioactivity, including possible analgesic effects. However, its acute antinociceptive mechanisms remain unclear. This study assessed the influence of CA (15, 30, and 60 mg/kg, p.o.) on locomotor and exploratory behaviors via rotarod and open field tests in

Pellagra From Tryptophan Depletion in Carcinoid Syndrome due to a Pulmonary Atypical Carcinoid Neuroendocrine Tumor

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Pellagra may complicate functioning pulmonary atypical carcinoid and present as a subtle acral dermatosis rather than the classical photo‐distributed rash. In neuroendocrine tumor patients with chronic diarrhea and new skin changes, clinicians should suspect niacin deficiency and consider empiric nicotinamide, even when niacin assays are ...

Persistent Hypocalcemia in an Anaplastic Thyroid Carcinoma Patient Without Prior Surgery or Radiotherapy: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
Persistent hypocalcemia occurred in a patient with advanced anaplastic thyroid carcinoma without prior surgery or radiotherapy. Multifactorial causes—including vitamin D deficiency, hypomagnesemia, and possible parathyroid dysfunction—led to refractory hypocalcemia, highlighting the importance of early recognition and supportive palliative care ...
