Antimycobacterial activity of chiral aminoalcohols with camphane scaffold

European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2014
A series of aminoalcohols were synthesized by reaction of aminolysis of camphor derived oxiranes with chosen amines. The compounds were evaluated for their in vitro activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv. Ten of the new structures show much higher activity than the classical anti-TB drug ethambutol.

Synthesis and antimycobacterial activity of novel camphane-based agents

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2014
A series of six new amidoalcohols was designed and synthesized on the base of the camphor scaffold. Natural amino acids were transformed into their α-hydroxy analogues with retention of configuration, and attached to isobornylamine. The compounds were evaluated for their in vitro activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv.

Conformational study of α-arylethylamides of (−)-camphanic acid

Tetrahedron: Asymmetry, 1998
The absolute conformation and configuration of diastereomeric amides (4A, B-6A, B) of 1S, 3R)-camphanic acid (lactone of 1-hydroxy-2, 2, 3-trimethylcyclopentan-1, 3-dicarboxylic acid, (-)-camphanic acid 9 with a-arylethylamines 1-3 are deduced from H NMR data and MM2 calculations. The absolute configuration (1'S) is assigned to the 4A-6A diastereomers,

The crystallographic structure of a novel camphanic amide

Journal of Chemical Crystallography, 1999
The crystallographic structure of a novel camphanic amide 5 is disclosed by x-ray analysis. It crystallized in the space group P212121(#19) with a = 15.663(3), b = 17.848(3), c = 7.935(8) A, V = 2209.5(6) A3, Dcalc = 1.165 g/cm3, and Z = 4.
