The factors affecting Vietnam’s canned tuna exports

open access: yesCogent Economics & Finance, 2023
In this study, we used the gravity model to identify factors affecting Vietnam’s tuna exports to major import markets, including the United States, Canada, Japan and European countries, and then to find the solutions with sufficient scientific and ...

Conductive Hydrogels for Exogenous Sensing and Cell Fate Control

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We engineer electrically conductive hydrogels by combining sulfated glycosaminoglycans with semiconducting polymers. These hydrogels bind bioactive proteins, including growth factors, whose release or retention can be modulated by low‐voltage stimulation. The hydrogels are also integrated as 3D channels in organic electrochemical transistors as part of

Toward Predictable Nanomedicine: Current Forecasting Frameworks for Nanoparticle–Biology Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Predictive models successfully screen nanoparticles for toxicity and cellular uptake. Yet, complex biological dynamics and sparse, nonstandardized data limit their accuracy. The field urgently needs integrated artificial intelligence/machine learning, systems biology, and open‐access data protocols to bridge the gap between materials science and safe ...

Automated Quality Control System for Canned Tuna Production using Artificial Vision [PDF]

open access: yes2024 3rd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence For Internet of Things (AIIoT)
This work presents the implementation of an automated control system for detecting and classifying faults in tuna metal cans using artificial vision. The system utilizes a conveyor belt and a camera for visual recognition triggered by a photoelectric ...

Description of large, well‐preserved Enchodus specimens from the Bearpaw Formation of Alberta, Canada

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Fishes of the genus Enchodus were abundant and cosmopolitan in the Late Cretaceous, but are primarily known from isolated remains in Canada. Four well‐preserved fish skulls were recovered in recent years from ammolite mines sampling the Bearpaw Formation of Southern Alberta, and are here referred to Enchodus petrosus Cope, 1874.

An evaluation of mercury concentrations in three brands of canned tuna [PDF]

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology and Chemistry, 2009
Abstract There is widespread concern over the presence of Hg in fish consumed by humans. While studies have been focused on determining the Hg concentration in sport fish and some commercial fish, little attention has been directed to canned tuna; it is widely held that concentrations are low.

Exploring the Roles of Tuna‐Associated Acinetobacter sp. YFT067: Implications for Host Health and Metabolism

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
This study firstly isolated a tuna‐derived gut probiotic Acinetobacter seifertii YFT067. Dietary administration of YFT067 played significant roles in promoting growth performance, SCFAs production, lipid absorption, and metabolism of the host, indicating YFT067 as a promising probiotic candidate for enhancing tuna aquaculture productivity through ...

Pro‐Organic by Design: Choice Architecture Shaping Online Organic Grocery Purchases

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Consumer uptake of organic food is shaped by both personal values and the way choices are structured in the retail environment. Unlike prior research, we here investigate how elements of supermarket choice architecture influence organic choices.
