Determination of digestible indispensable amino acid score for salmon hydrolysate proteins
Abstract BACKGROUND Salmon products are excellent foods that contain indispensable nutrients including fatty acids and amino acids (AA), but during processing, salmon co‐products that cannot be used for the primary purpose are also generated. Examples of such co‐products include salmon protein hydrolysate concentrate (SPHC) and salmon protein ...

Canola Meal and Fish Meal in Turkey Starter Diets
Abstract Canola meal was incorporated into turkey starter diets at levels of 0, 150, 300, and 450 g/kg with either 0, 60, or 120 g herring fish meal per kilogram. The diets were fed to Large White female poults from 7 to 42 days of age. The replacement of soybean meal by canola meal did not change live weights at 42 days.

Nitrogen Mineralization from Canola Meal or Cottonseed Meal with or without Soapstock [PDF]
Nitrogen (N) release rate from organic materials through mineralization is affected by the organic material and environmental conditions. Determining rates of mineralization for canola (Brassica rapa L.) meal and cottonseed (Gossypium hirsutum L.) meal with or without soapstock (a waste byproduct of seed oil extraction) will establish appropriate ...

ABSTRACT A key challenge for the genetic improvement of canola (Brassica napus), one of the world's most important oilseeds, is the limited natural variation for commercially important traits. The creation of new variation is hindered by the lack of functional knowledge about genes controlling these traits.
