Repeated local emergence of carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii in a single hospital ward [PDF]
We recently reported a dramatic increase in the prevalence of carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii infections in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a Vietnamese hospital.

IntroductionPseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) and Acinetobacter baumannii (A. baumannii) can cause difficult-to-treat infections. We characterized molecular epidemiology of ceftazidime-resistant P. aeruginosa and carbapenem-resistant A. baumannii at

Fungal Antimicrobial Resistance: Mechanisms, Drivers, and Global Clinical Burden
ABSTRACT Fungal antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing concern for world health caused by an increase in multidrug‐resistant infections, an increase in environmental reservoirs, and the ineffectiveness of current antifungal treatments. Fungal infections continue to be largely excluded from AMR initiatives while causing over 1.6 million deaths ...

Abstract Background Gram‐negative ESKAPE organisms are an emerging threat in veterinary medicine that also have zoonotic potential. However, little is known about the prevalence and risks of these organisms in pet food. We present the incidental finding of gram‐negative ESKAPE organisms within samples of raw meat diets for dogs in the United Kingdom ...

Evaluation of carriage and environmental contamination by carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii [PDF]
We evaluated the sensitivity of surveillance cultures for carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB) in patients and in their environment. Patients with a CRAB-positive clinical culture were sampled within 7 days; the buccal mucosa and rectum were sampled using swabs, and skin was sampled using pre-moistened sterile sponges.

Fanny pack transmission of carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii
Background: Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB) is a gram-negative coccobacillus that has garnered notoriety as a formidable cause of nosocomial infection with significant mortality. This organism poses a significant threat due to its multitude of resistance mechanisms and ability to endure within the environment. In the summer of 2022,
