Correlative Imaging Platform Linking Taste Cell Function to Molecular Identity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 9, 13 February 2026.
A correlative imaging platform is developed to study how individual taste cells respond to different taste qualities. By linking cellular activity with molecular identity and environmental context, dual‐tuned taste cells capable of detecting both sweet and umami stimuli are identified.

Benzoxaboroles Are Inhibitors of the η‐Class Carbonic Anhydrase From Plasmodium falciparum

open access: yesArchiv der Pharmazie, Volume 359, Issue 2, February 2026.
Benzoxaborole‐based inhibitors demonstrate potent, low‐micromolar inhibition of the essential malaria target PfaCA and are effective in vitro suppression of P. falciparum. Molecular docking confirms target engagement via zinc coordination, establishing this chemotype as a promising scaffold for the development of next‐generation antimalarials ...

Synthesis, Characterization, Biological Properties, and Sensor Applications of Novel Thiosemicarbazone Derivatives

open access: yesBiotechnology and Applied Biochemistry, Volume 73, Issue 1, Page 14-27, February 2026.
ABSTRACT In this study, novel thiosemicarbazone derivative molecules (5a–j) were synthesized. The characterization of the synthesized molecules was carried out using 1H–, 13C–NMR, FT–IR, and Q–TOF spectroscopic techniques. Then, the inhibitory effect of these compounds was examined for human carbonic anhydrase I and II (hCA I, and II) and ...
