Open saccharin-based secondary sulfonamides as potent and selective inhibitors of cancer-related carbonic anhydrase IX and XII isoforms [PDF]
A large number of novel secondary sulfonamides based on the open saccharin scaffold were synthesized and evaluated as selective inhibitors of four different isoforms of human carbonic anhydrase (hCA I, II, IX and XII, EC 4.2.1.1).

Role of Histidine‐Containing Peptoids in Accelerating the Kinetics of Calcite Growth
Amphiphilic histidine‐containing peptoids mimic carbonic anhydrase (CA) to accelerate calcite step growth. In the presence of Zn2+, they promote the deprotonation of HCO3−, the desolvation of Ca2+, and the reorganization of interfacial hydration layers, thereby reducing the activation barrier for calcite growth.

A molecular manganese electrocatalyst enables the direct electrochemical capture and conversion of dilute CO2 (1% – 0.2%) to CO with nearly unit Faradaic efficiency, achieving high efficiency even at atmospheric concentrations (420 ppm). By bypassing energy‐intensive pre‐concentration steps, this integrated approach highlights a sustainable pathway for

The Sodium Channel B4-Subunits are Dysregulated in Temporal Lobe Epilepsy Drug-Resistant Patients [PDF]
Temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) is the most common type of partial epilepsy referred for surgery due to antiepileptic drug (AED) resistance. A common molecular target for many of these drugs is the voltage-gated sodium channel (VGSC).

Surface Mutation Thr34His Facilitates Purification of Haemophilus influenza Carbonic Anhydrase via Metal Affinity Chromatography [PDF]
In order to pursue Haemophilus influenza carbonic anhydrase (HICA) as a potential drug target, easy and efficient purification methods must be developed. While immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC) may be used, complications with polyhistidine

Eutectozymes as Soft Hybrid Materials for Advanced Biocatalysis
Eutectozymes are sustainable hybrid materials that embed a GOx–HRP cascade within hydrophobic eutectogels featuring a dual supramolecular–covalent network. This architecture preserves native enzyme structure and stability, enables efficient heterogeneous biocatalysis in aqueous media, and positions eutectogels as robust platforms for next‐generation ...
