Integrating Machine Learning With Constant‐Potential Simulation to Unravel Charge‐Transfer Mechanisms in Electrochemical Nitrogen Fixation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrating interpretable machine learning with the fixed‐potential method reveals a novel mechanism: the catalytic activity of the electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction is governed by partial charge transfer, induced by variations in the intermediate potential of zero charge under constant potential.

Superatom Distortion Induces Triferroicity and Spin Splitting in Two‐Dimensional Antiferromagnets

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The incorporation of superatoms into a 2D square lattice induces symmetry breaking, thereby enabling concurrent coupling among magnetism, ferroelectricity, and ferroelasticity. This strategy achieves triferroic behavior—characterized by spin‐split antiferromagnetic ground states—and offers a viable pathway toward energy‐efficient spintronic devices ...

A Strong Lewis Acidic Diethylsilylium Catalyst for Direct Sulfonamidation of Challenging Ketones

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Low‐substitution‐order silylium ions (R2HSi+) exhibit exceptional Lewis acidic activity. We report diethylsilylium‐catalyzed reductive sulfonamidation of functionalized ketones to access β‐amino esters. The in situ generated ion pair shows enhanced reactivity, with diethylsilane serving as both reductant and precatalyst. The developed protocol proceeds

Carborane Guests for Cucurbit[7]uril Facilitate Strong Binding and on Demand Removal

open access: yes, 2020
High affinity guest have been reported for the macrocyclic host cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]), enabling widespread applications, but preventing CB[7] materials from being returned to their guest-free state for reuse.

Free Three-Dimensional Carborane Carbanions

open access: yes, 2021
Carbon atom functionalization via generation of carbanions is the cornerstone of carborane chemistry. In this work, we report the synthesis and structural characterization of free ortho-carboranyl [C2B10H11]−, a three-dimensional inorganic analog of the ...

Hypergolic Copper Cluster‐Based Covalent Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hpergolic cluster‐based covalent organic framework (Cu3‐CB‐COF), assembled from aldehyde‐functionalized carborane monomers and trinuclear copper clusters, demonstrates a strong synergy between its catalytic copper nodes and energetic carborane backbones.

Unraveling aromaticity: the dual worlds of pyrazole, pyrazoline, and 3D carborane

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry
A new series of o-carborane-fused pyrazoles has been recently successfully synthesized. This fusion was expected to create a hybrid 3D/2D aromatic system, combining the 3D aromaticity of o-carborane with the 2D aromaticity of pyrazole. However, while the

Re-design and evaluation of diclofenac-based carborane-substituted prodrugs and their anti-cancer potential

open access: yesScientific Reports
In this study, we investigated a novel anti-cancer drug design approach by revisiting diclofenac-based carborane-substituted prodrugs. The redesigned compounds combine the robust carborane scaffold with the oxindole framework, resulting in four carborane-
