This study utilizes programmable mechanical pressure as a therapeutic enhancer to establish a mechano‐chemotherapy strategy. Controlled pressure activates the mechanosensitive ion channel Piezo1 in bladder cancer, triggering a calcium ion cascade that transiently and reversibly amplifies membrane permeability to chemotherapeutics.

Caveolin expression changes in the neurovascular unit after juvenile traumatic brain injury: signs of blood-brain barrier healing? [PDF]
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is one of the major causes of death and disability in pediatrics, and results in a complex cascade of events including the disruption of the blood-brain barrier (BBB).

In AKI, initial kidney injury upregulates the expression of Cav‐1, which subsequently binds to and stabilizes SERCA2 via its scaffolding domain and through deubiquitination, thereby regulating Ca2+ homeostasis and ER stress. Conversely, Cav‐1 deficiency accelerates SERCA2 degradation, triggering Ca2+ overload and ER stress, and ultimately exacerbating ...

Endocytic crosstalk: cavins, caveolins, and caveolae regulate clathrin-independent endocytosis.
Several studies have suggested crosstalk between different clathrin-independent endocytic pathways. However, the molecular mechanisms and functional relevance of these interactions are unclear.

Membrane Compartmentalization and Scaffold Proteins in Leukocyte Migration
Leukocyte migration across vessels into and within peripheral and lymphoid tissues is essential for host defense against invading pathogens. Leukocytes are specialized in sensing a variety of guidance cues and to integrate environmental stimuli to ...

GLS1 Orchestrates Exosome‐Mediated Tumor‐Endothelial Communication to Facilitate Angiogenesis
This study reveals a previously unappreciated, non‐metabolic function of GLS1 in the control of tumor angiogenesis via exosome‐mediated CAV1‐TNC signaling, indicating that therapeutic targeting of GLS1 may offer a dual benefit by simultaneously suppressing tumor metabolic activity and angiogenic processes in head and neck cancer. ABSTRACT Glutaminase 1

Glycosphingolipid Mediated Caveolin-1 Oligomerization [PDF]
We have previously demonstrated an association between the accumulation of the glycosphingolipid globotriaosylceramide (Gb3) and the loss of high molecular weight oligomers in the aortas of α-galactosidase A-knockout mice, a model of Fabry disease. In the present study the molecular basis for the association between glycosphingolipids and caveolin-1 ...
