IL-33 reduces tumor growth in models of colorectal cancer with the help of eosinophils
In many types of cancer, presence of eosinophils in tumors correlate with an improved disease outcome. In line with this, activated eosinophils have been shown to reduce tumor growth in colorectal cancer (CRC). Interleukin (IL)-33 has recently emerged as

Inhaled Angiopoietin‐Like 4 Antisense Oligonucleotide Therapy for Lung Injury and Fibrosis
Inhaled antisense oligonucleotides targeting ANGPTL4 attenuate inflammation, preserve barrier integrity, and reduce fibrosis in both infectious and sterile lung injury models. Integrated transcriptomic analysis reveals a conserved ANGPTL4‐regulated gene network coordinating hypoxic, inflammatory, apoptotic, and stress‐response pathways.

A zinc/manganese (Zn/Mn)‐based metal‐organic framework (MOF) loaded with the STING agonist c‐di‐AMP diammonium (denoted AMP@Zn/Mn‐MOF) was developed to synergistically activate the cGAS‐STING pathway and induce immunogenic cell death. This nanoplatform reprograms the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, significantly enhancing anti‐PD‐L1 ...

The long noncoding RNA-30162 is regulated by commensal microbiota and modulates CCL24 and ARG1 in macrophages [PDF]
Abstract Background Alveolar macrophages (AMs) are the largest number of innate immune cells in the distal lung. AMs have critical roles in maintaining immunological homoeostasis and host defense in the lung and are inherently suppressive. Immune homeostasis depends on the integrity of microbiome, which contribute to appropriate maturation and ...

ABSTRACT Intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration is a leading cause of chronic low back pain and a major contributor to global disability. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying this condition is essential for developing targeted therapies. Among these mechanisms, microRNAs (miRNAs) have emerged as critical post‐transcriptional regulators of ...

AllergoOncology in Review: Harnessing Allergy in the Field of Oncology to Improve Patient Outcomes
ABSTRACT The AllergoOncology field brings together the study of allergic and cancer immune responses, having evolved from early epidemiological studies that reported inverse associations between allergies, IgE and cancer risk. Insights from studying allergic inflammation are revealing previously unappreciated immune mechanisms that confer protective ...

Serum CCL24 as a Biomarker of Fibrotic and Vascular Disease Severity in Systemic Sclerosis
BackgroundSystemic sclerosis (SSc) is a heterogeneous disease, characterized by variable tissue and vascular fibrosis in the context of autoimmune activation. CCL24 (or Eotaxin2) has been shown to promote microangiopathic, proinflammatory, and profibrotic processes in preclinical models of SSc. Here, we study serum CCL24 levels in a real‐life cohort of

In HOMAGE, 276 plasma proteins were profiled using Olink panels. Machine learning algorithms identified galectin‐9 (GAL9), thrombospondin‐2 (THBS2), and NT‐proBNP as predictors of changes in procollagen type I C‐terminal propeptide (PICP) after spironolactone treatment.
