Optical properties of Cd1-xMnxTe/Cd1-yMnyTe superlattices with high difference of Mn concentration between wells and barriers

open access: yes, 2005
We studied the optical properties of Cd1-xMnxTe/Cd1-yMnyTe semiconductor superlattices with medium (x=0.3,y=0.01) and high (x=0.8,y=0) difference of the Mn concentration between wells and barriers, by means of photoluminescence and photoreflectance ...

γ‐Cyclodextrin‐Based 2:2 Host–Guest Complexes With Emergent Circularly Polarized Luminescence

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
We elucidate the formation of γ‐cyclodextrin‐mediated 2:2 host–guest complexes through combined NMR, thermodynamic, and kinetic analyses. The process is driven by dimerization and yields discrete assemblies with emergent chiroptical properties via host‐to‐guest chirality transfer.

Increases in Human Epidermal DR+CD1+, DR+CD1-CD36+, and DR-CD3+ Cells in Allergic Versus Irritant Patch Test Responses

open access: yes, 1994
In an attempt to differentiate an allergic patch test response from an irritant response, we evaluated by flow cytometry the percentages of various epidermal cell populations isolated from allergen and irritant-treated patch test sites.

New Insights Into the Role of Neutrophils in Lymphoma

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2026.
Tissue‐resident neutrophils challenge conventional paradigms by actively infiltrating normal lymphoid organs, predominantly localizing in interstitial compartments, a spatial distribution distinct from their classical vascular positioning. Neutrophils in lymphoid organs exhibit unique phenotypic and functional signatures, suggesting they play roles in ...

Transcription of individual CD1 genes by bovine APCs.

open access: yes, 2015
A Cells from PBMC (top panel), pseudoafferent lymph (middle panel), and prescapular lymph node (lower panel) were sorted based on expression of the Ig light chain (IL-A59), and CD1 (SBU-T6).

Combinatorial expression of glial transcription factors induces Schwann cell‐specific gene expression in mouse embryonic fibroblasts

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, Volume 255, Issue 6, Page 548-566, June 2026.
Abstract Background Schwann cells provide peripheral nerve trophic support, myelinate axons, and assist in repair. However, Schwann cell repair capacity is limited by chronic injury, disease, and aging. Schwann cell reprogramming is a cellular conversion strategy that could provide a renewable cell supply to repair injured nerves.

Maximizing the Quality of Non‐Invasive Samples for Conservation Genetics Using Targeted Next‐Generation Sequencing: A Comparison of Fecal DNA Preservation Methodologies

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
Obtaining high quality and quantity fecal DNA is notoriously problematic. We compared seven different fecal DNA preservation methodologies for their performance with a targeted genotyping approach to better inform sampling of feces in the field. Optimal recovery of DNA was obtained via a lysis shaken (i.e., washed) methodology, which provided a yield ...

Cellular endocytic compartment localization of expressed canine CD1 molecules

open access: yes, 2016
CD1 molecules are glycoproteins present primarily on dendritic cells (DCs), which recognize and presenta variety of foreign- and self-lipid antigens to T-cells.

Modulation of Ferroptosis Biomarkers by Thinned Apple Polyphenols Extract in Acute and Chronic Lung Injuries

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
Thinned apple polyphenols (TAP) extract reduced ferroptosis in acute and chronic lung injuries. TAP activated Nrf2 and modulated key biomarkers (MDA, NOX4, GPX4, FTH1), leading to decreased inflammation and fibrosis. These findings suggest TAP as a potential therapeutic approach for lung injury through ferroptosis regulation. ABSTRACT Acute and chronic

Harnessing Fatty Acid By‐Products for Diabetes Management: Insights From Nutritional and Biological Research

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
Bioactive fatty acids from agro‐industrial byproducts are highlighted as a promising avenue for managing diabetes in this review, which aims to develop targeted interventions for optimal utilization and therapeutic benefits. ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus (DM), influenced by multifaceted factors, creates a complex imbalance within the body. Nutrition plays
