Angiogenic and Arthritogenic Properties of the Soluble Form of CD13 [PDF]
Abstract Aminopeptidase N/CD13 is expressed by fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS) and monocytes (MNs) in inflamed human synovial tissue (ST). This study examined the role of soluble CD13 (sCD13) in angiogenesis, MN migration, phosphorylation of signaling molecules, and induction of arthritis.

Aminopeptidase N (CD13) as a target for cancer chemotherapy [PDF]
The enzyme aminopeptidase N (APN, also known as CD13) is a Zn2+ dependent membrane‐bound ectopeptidase that degrades preferentially proteins and peptides with a N‐terminal neutral amino acid. Aminopeptidase N has been associated with the growth of different human cancers and suggested as a suitable target for anti‐cancerous therapy.

Objective: In the present study we aim to evaluate whether some of the proteins previously identified in the secretome of senescent bone marrow (BM)- and adipose (A)-mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) could be involved in regulation of senescence phenomena.

Inactivation of interleukin-8 by aminopeptidase N (CD13) [PDF]
Abstract Aminopeptidase (APN) was found to degrade interleukin-8 (IL-8) and inactivate its chemotactic activity. The chemotactic activity of IL-8 was decreased by APN or neutrophil plasma membranes dose- and time-dependently. The chemotactic activity was not inactivated in the presence of bestatin or WM15 monoclonal antibody.

Potential therapeutic impact of CD13 expression in non-small cell lung cancer. [PDF]
Aminopeptidase N (CD13) is a zinc-binding protease that has functional effects on both cancerogenesis and tumor angiogenesis. Since CD13 is an antigen suitable for molecular targeted therapies (e.g.

CD13 mediates phagocytosis in human monocytic cells [PDF]
Abstract CD13 is a membrane-bound ectopeptidase, highly expressed on monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. CD13 is involved in diverse functions, including degradation of peptide mediators, cellular adhesion, migration, viral endocytosis, signaling, and positive modulation of phagocytosis mediated by FcγRs and other phagocytic ...

Variable O-glycosylation of CD13 (aminopeptidase N)
The monoclonal antibody AG6 was raised against HUVE cells and was confirmed as recognizing CD13 (aminopeptidase N) by its reactivity with the CD13 cDNA transfectant pipz "4". However, in sequential immunoprecipitation studies with another anti-CD13 monoclonal, WM15, neither was able to completely remove the molecules recognized by the other.

Expression of CD13/Aminopeptidase N by Synovial Fibroblasts: Novel Roles in the Pathogenesis of Rheumatoid Arthritis. [PDF]
Aminopeptidase N/CD13 is a metallopeptidase that is highly expressed by fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS) and may play a role in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The goal of this study was to define CD13 function in the RA joint by monitoring CD13 expression

The β2 integrin CD11b/CD18, also known as complement receptor 3 (CR3), and the moonlighting protein aminopeptidase N (CD13), are two myeloid immune receptors with overlapping activities: adhesion, migration, phagocytosis of opsonized particles, and ...
