Endometrial CD16(+) and CD16(-) NK cell count in fertility and unexplained infertility [PDF]
Problem: Peripheral counts of CD16+ NK cells have been well characterized in reproductive failure. However, not enough case-control clinical studies have been conducted to establish normal or abnormal CD16+/- values in the endometrium.

A Novel Mutation in the FcγRIIIA Gene (CD16) Results in Active Natural Killer Cells Lacking CD16
We report a novel mutation in FcgammaRIIIA (the transmembrane-form CD16) on natural killer (NK) cells in a patient with polyneuropathy. She had no history of recurrent infections. Her NK cells expressed no detectable CD16; however, her NK cytotoxic activity was normal, suggesting that CD16 expression and cytotoxic activity are independent of one ...

A Novel, Five-Marker Alternative to CD16–CD14 Gating to Identify the Three Human Monocyte Subsets
Human primary monocytes are heterogeneous in terms of phenotype and function, but are sub-divided only based on CD16 and CD14 expression. CD16 expression distinguishes a subset of monocytes with highly pro-inflammatory properties from non-CD16 expressing

Advanced Materials for Biologics Delivery to Brain Tumors
Material innovation is central to unlocking the therapeutic potential of biologics against many central nervous system diseases, including brain cancer. By engineering carriers with controlled transport, targeting, and release properties, advanced materials can overcome the blood–brain barrier and tumor microenvironment, improving the delivery of ...

Macrophage‐based immunotherapy for solid tumors is limited by poor tracking of cell localization and persistence. This study introduces nanotagged macrophages enabling near‐infrared photoacoustic imaging for real‐time monitoring. IFNγ‐conjugated tags enhance antitumor polarization without harming viability.

Anti‐PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade has revolutionized cancer immunotherapy, but is ineffective against endocrine‐treated (i.e., Tamoxifen), relapsed ER+ breast cancer (BC) patients. This study provides insight into the sub‐optimal response of ER+BCs to anti‐PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade – highlighting the induction of STING and the CEACAM1/TIM3 axis after chronic ...

CD14+CD16+ monocyte subpopulation in Kawasaki disease [PDF]
SUMMARY Kawasaki disease (KD) is an acute febrile illness caused by vasculitis, occurring in early childhood. We have demonstrated that the activation of monocytes/macrophages plays a central role during acute KD. Recently, it has been reported that the CD14+CD16+ monocyte subpopulation plays a more important role in inflammation.
