Structure prediction and antigenic site determination of CD4 antigen
International Journal of Medical Engineering and Informatics, 2010CD antigen are playing vital role in many diseases. The human CD4 molecule binds both human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) envelope protein gp120 and class II major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules. This binding help for the internalisation of HIV and its replication in host CD4 T-cells concentration fall drastically, a disastrous fall in CD4 T-

An immunoglobulin light chain dimer with cd4 antigen specificity
Molecular Immunology, 1987A subclone that had lost its IgG1 heavy chain was derived from a hybridoma cell line G17-2 that produces an anti-CD4 monoclonal antibody. This subclone was found to secrete a kappa light chain dimer (LCD) that could bind to the CD4 antigen expressed on a subset of human T lymphocytes.

Antigen Recognition Influences Transendothelial Migration of CD4+ T Cells
The Journal of Immunology, 1999Abstract The functional significance of MHC class II expression by vascular endothelial cells remains obscure. In this study the possibility that Ag presentation by endothelial cells (EC) influences T cell transmigration, facilitating the recruitment of Ag-specific T cells into tissues, was investigated.

A microbiota-derived antigen drives CD4+ intraepithelial lymphocyte (CD4IEL) development
Trends in Immunology, 2022CD4+ intraepithelial lymphocytes (CD4IEL) are tissue-resident T cells with cytotoxic and regulatory properties; together with peripheral regulatory T cells, they control intestinal inflammation. Recently, Bousbaine and colleagues identified a microbiota-derived conserved antigen that induces CD4IEL differentiation and promotes their regulatory function,

Original Antigenic Sin in
ABSTRACTOriginal antigenic sin (OAS) describes the phenomenon in which prior exposure to an antigen weakens the adaptive antibody response to a subsequent heterologous infection. This phenomenon can diminish the effectiveness of immunity acquired through vaccination or previous infections.

Antigen-Specific CD4+ Regulatory T Cells in the Intestine
Inflammation & Allergy-Drug Targets, 2006Mucosal surfaces, especially the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, are obligatory sites for tolerance induction against numerous exogenous antigens. Therefore, the mucosal surface seems to provide a microenvironment conductive to the induction of antigen-specific regulatory T cells.

Antigen processing and CD4+ T cell depletion in AIDS
Cell, 1988e infection of T lymphocytes by HIV-1 can be blocked by anti-CD4 monoclonal antibodies (Dalgleish et al., Nature 372,763-767,1984; Klatzmann et al., ibid., 767-768); * HIV-1 envelope (env) giycoprotein (gp120) binds specifically to the CD4 molecule present on helper/inducer T lymphocytes (McDougal et al., Science 237, 382-385, 1986); and expression of ...

CD4+ T Cell Epitope Identification from Complex Parasite Antigen Mixtures
2023Antigen complexity represents a major challenge for scoring CD4+ T cell immunogenicity, a key hallmark of immunity and with great potential to improve vaccine development. In this chapter, we provide a comprehensive picture of a pipeline that can be applied to virtually any complex antigen to overcome different limitations.

Polymorphism of the CD4 and CD5 differentiation antigens in cattle
Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, 1991Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) specific for bovine CD4 and CD5 antigens have been found to identify polymorphic determinants on these molecules. In the case of CD5, mAb IL-A67 recognises one allotypic form of the antigen while four other CD5-specific mAbs in the workshop (CC17, CC29, BLT-1 and 8C11) recognise a second allotype.

Impaired antigen-specific CD4+ T lymphocyte responses in cavitary tuberculosis
Tuberculosis, 2009The clinical outcome in tuberculosis is determined by the host-pathogen interaction. Successful immune responses result in granulomas and curtailment of disease, whilst cavitation indicates a failing immune response. We sought to investigate the mechanisms involved in these processes.
