Myeloid transformation by MLL - ENL depends strictly on C/EBP

open access: yesLife Science Alliance, 2021
This publication shows that C/EBP (CCAAT enhancer–binding protein) transcription factors are mandatory for maintaining the myeloid leukemic phenotype, suggesting a therapeutic option by interfering with the non-oncogenic C/EBP dependence.

Matrix Viscoelasticity Regulates Dendritic Cell Migration and Immune Priming

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Matrix viscoelasticity is a key mechanical feature of the tumor microenvironment but remains poorly understood in immune regulation. Here, we develop a tunable collagen platform to decouple viscoelasticity from stiffness and show that slow‐relaxing matrices constrain dendritic cell migration by limiting actomyosin‐driven matrix remodeling, thereby ...

Glutamine Deprivation Triggers Tribbles Homolog 3 Dependent G‐Quadruplex Resolution to Maintain DNA Repair and Tumor Survival

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glutamine deprivation triggers transient DNA damage yet activates adaptive repair in hepatocellular carcinoma cells. We identify TRIB3 as a stress‐induced nuclear scaffold that associates with DDX5 and G‐quadruplex DNA atBRCA1 andRAD51AP1 promoters. TRIB3 loss increases G4 accumulation, suppresses HR gene transcription, elevates γ‐H2A.X, and sensitizes

Cars2‐Mediated Cysteine Catabolism Drives Brown Fat Development and Thermogenesis Through Persulfidating EBF2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that Cars2, a cysteine catabolic enzyme in mouse iBAT, is critical for cold tolerance and brown adipocyte differentiation. Through its CPERS activity, Cars2 produces CysSSH/H2S to induce EBF2 persulfidation, promoting its interaction with PPARγ and BRG1 to enhance thermogenic gene expression.

LINC00035 Transcriptional Regulation of SLC16A3 via CEBPB Affects Glycolysis and Cell Apoptosis in Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, 2021
Objective. Ovarian cancer (OC) represents the most lethal gynecologic malignancy globally. Over the decades, lncRNAs have been considered as study focuses due to their genome-wide expression through multiple mechanisms in which regulation of target gene transcription through interaction with transcription factors or epigenetic proteins is proven.

CEBPB dampens the cuproptosis sensitivity of colorectal cancer cells by facilitating the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway

open access: yesThe Saudi Journal of Gastroenterology
Background: Cuproptosis is a novel pathway that differs from other forms of cell death and has been confirmed to be applicable for predicting tumor prognosis and clinical treatment response.

Gut microbiota‐related modulation of immune mechanisms in post‐infarction remodelling and heart failure

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 942-954, April 2025.
Abstract The immune system has long been recognized as a key driver in the progression of heart failure (HF). However, clinical trials targeting immune effectors have consistently failed to improve patient outcome across different HF aetiologies. The activation of the immune system in HF is complex, involving a broad network of pro‐inflammatory and ...

Molecular mechanisms in the pathogenesis of classical Hodgkin lymphoma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Obwohl in den letzten Jahren bereits einige beteiligte Faktoren und Mechanismen der Pathogenese des klassischen Hodgkin-Lymphoms (cHL) aufgeklärt wurden, ist sie bis heute größenteils noch unbekannt.

Comprehensive Dissection of PDGF-PDGFR Signaling Pathways in PDGFR Genetically Defined Cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Despite the growing understanding of PDGF signaling, studies of PDGF function have encountered two major obstacles: the functional redundancy of PDGFRα and PDGFRβ in vitro and their distinct roles in vivo.

Itraconazole inhibits tumor growth via CEBPB‐mediated glycolysis in colorectal cancer

open access: yesCancer Science
AbstractAdvanced colorectal cancer (CRC) is characterized by a high recurrence and metastasis rate, which is the primary cause of patient mortality. Unfortunately, effective anti‐cancer drugs for CRC are still lacking in clinical practice. We screened FDA‐approved drugs by utilizing targeted organoid sequencing data and found that the antifungal drug ...
