Protocol for in vitro assessment of human monocyte transendothelial migration using a high-throughput live cell imaging system

open access: yesSTAR Protocols, 2023
Summary: In vitro modeling of the different steps of immune cell recruitment is essential to decipher the role of endothelial cells in this process. Here, we present a protocol for the assessment of human monocyte transendothelial migration using a live ...

A CMOS Tracking System Approach for Cell Motility Assays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This work proposes a method for studying and monitoring in real-time a single cell on a 2D electrode matrix, of great interest in cell motility assays and in the characterization of cancer cell metastasis. A CMOS system proposal for cell location based

Bone Marrow Failure as an Underrecognized Feature of KAT6A Syndrome

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT KAT6A syndrome (Arboleda–Tham syndrome) is a rare disorder caused by heterozygous pathogenic variants in KAT6A, a histone acetyltransferase essential for chromatin remodeling and hematopoietic stem cell function. While neurodevelopmental features are well established, hematologic manifestations are underrecognized.

Protocol for dissection and culture of murine dorsal root ganglia neurons to study neuropeptide release

open access: yesSTAR Protocols, 2021
Summary: In this protocol, we provide step-by-step instructions for dissection and culture of primary murine dorsal root ganglia (DRG), which provide an opportunity to study the functional properties of peripheral sensory neurons in vitro.

Mitotic cell death induction by targeting the mitotic spindle with tubulin-inhibitory indole derivative molecules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Tubulin-targeting molecules are widely used cancer therapeutic agents. They inhibit microtubule-based structures, including the mitotic spindle, ultimately preventing cell division.

Potential Early Risk Biomarkers for Reduced Forced Expiratory Volume in Children Post‐Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We sought to identify potential early risk biomarkers for lung disease in children post‐allogeneic HCT. Patients with pulmonary function tests 3 months post‐transplant and plasma samples between days 7 and 14 post‐HCT were included. Six of 27 subjects enrolled had reduced forced expiratory volume 1 (FEV1) z scores.

A protocol for imaging microvilli biogenesis on the surface of cultured porcine kidney epithelial cell monolayers

open access: yesSTAR Protocols, 2021
Summary: A key facet of epithelial differentiation is the assembly of actin-based protrusions known as microvilli, which amplify apical membrane surface area for various cell functions. To probe mechanisms of microvillus assembly, we developed a protocol

Practical Characterization of Cell-Electrode Electrical Models in Bio-Impedance Assays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This paper presents the fitting process followed to adjust the parameters of the electrical model associated to a cell-electrode system in Electrical Cell-substrate Impedance Spectroscopy (ECIS) technique, to the experimental results from cell-culture ...
