Vpliv glivnih in rastlinskih sekundarnih metabolitov na verižno reakcijo s polimerazo (PCR)

open access: yesActa Silvae et Ligni, 2013
Secondary metabolites are organic compounds that can be found in both fungi and plants, where they play an important role as defensive and signal molecules, or provide other kinds of advantage in natural selection, but are not directly involved in normal

Water bodies are potential hub for spatio-allotment of cell-free nucleic acid and pandemic: a pentadecadal (1969–2021) critical review on particulate cell-free DNA reservoirs in water nexus

open access: yesBulletin of the National Research Centre, 2022
Background In recent times, there had been report of diverse particulate nucleic acid-related infections and diseases which have been associated with endemic, sporadic, and pandemic reports spreading within water nexus.

Plasma EV Proteomics Identifies ECM Remodeling and Inflammatory Proteins LUM and C7 as Candidate Biomarkers in FSHD

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is one of the most debilitating and common muscular dystrophies. Despite its severity, no approved therapy exists for FSHD patients. However, several therapeutic candidates are currently under development, and some have recently entered clinical trials, marking the need for reliable ...

Functional nucleic acids as substrate for information processing

open access: yes, 2009
Information processing applications driven by self-assembly and conformation dynamics of nucleic acids are possible. These underlying paradigms (self-assembly and conformation dynamics) are essential for natural information processors as illustrated by ...

Human Gut Bacteria and Lipidic Nanoparticles: Particle Composition Predicts Structural Transformation and Bacterial Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipidic nanoparticles (LNPs) were incubated with 21 gut bacteria frequently associated with the human microbiome. SAXS revealed that ∼75% of tested species induced structural transformations in monoolein LNPs, whereas phytantriol and phospholipid formulations remained unaffected.

Circulating cell‐free mitochondrial DNA in diabetes mellitus: Current insights and unexplored frontiers

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation
The role and significance of circulating cell‐free mitochondrial DNA (ccf‐mtDNA)—small fragments of mitochondrial DNA present in plasma—are becoming increasingly clear in various diseases.

Double Stranded RNA in Human Seminal Plasma

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2017
Recently, human semen was shown to contain cell-free nucleic acids, such as DNA, long single stranded RNA, and small RNAs–miRNA and piRNA. The RNAs have been suggested to have potential biological roles as communication molecules between cells and in the

Extraction of Proteins and Other Intracellular Bioactive Compounds From Baker’s Yeasts by Pulsed Electric Field Treatment

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2020
Yeasts are rich source of proteins, antioxidants, vitamins, and other bioactive compounds. The main drawback in their utilization as valuable ingredients in functional foods and dietary supplements production is the thick, indigestible cell wall, as well

Cell‐free nucleic acids are present in blood products and regulate genes of innate immune response

open access: yes, 2018
Extracellular nucleic acids circulate in plasma. They are expected to be present in manufactured blood products eligible for transfusion, but little is known about their biological activity on human cells.
