The role of cell-cell adhesion in wound healing

open access: yes, 2006
We present a stochastic model which describes fronts of cells invading a wound. In the model cells can move, proliferate, and experience cell-cell adhesion.

A mathematical model quantifies proliferation and motility effects of TGF--$\beta$ on cancer cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Transforming growth factor (TGF) $\beta$ is known to have properties of both a tumor suppressor and a tumor promoter. While it inhibits cell proliferation, it also increases cell motility and decreases cell--cell adhesion.

Preferences of Pediatric Patients and Their Caregivers for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Control Endpoints: A Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Although not always achieved, complete chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) control is the conventional goal of CINV prophylaxis. In this two‐center, mixed‐methods study, we sought to understand the preferences of adolescent patients and family caregivers for CINV control endpoints.

Low-velocity collision behaviour of clusters composed of sub-mm sized dust aggregates

open access: yes, 2017
The experiments presented aim to measure the outcome of collisions between sub-mm sized protoplanetary dust aggregate analogues. We also observed the clusters formed from these aggregates and their collision behaviour.

Prismatic Deflection of Live Tumor Cells and Cell Clusters [PDF]

open access: yesACS Nano, 2018
The analysis of heterogeneous subpopulations of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) is critical to enhance our understanding of cancer metastasis and enable noninvasive cancer diagnosis and monitoring. The phenotypic variability and plasticity of these cells-properties closely linked to their clinical behavior-demand techniques that isolate viable, discrete

Intravitreal GD2‐Specific Chimeric Antigen Receptor T‐Cell Therapy for Refractory Retinoblastoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Effective treatments for advanced, treatment‐resistant retinoblastoma (RB) remain limited. GD2‐specific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells show potent antitumor activity with minimal toxicity but have not previously been evaluated in RB.

Isolation of adult pituitary stem/progenitor cell clusters located in the parenchyma of the rat anterior lobe

open access: yesStem Cell Research, 2016
Recent studies have demonstrated that Sox2-expressing stem/progenitor cells play roles in the pituitary cell turnover. Two types of niches have been proposed for stem/progenitor cells, the marginal cell layer (MCL) and the dense cell clusters in the ...

Single Cell Analysis of Inertial Migration by Circulating Tumor Cells and Clusters

open access: yesMicromachines, 2023
Single-cell analysis provides a wealth of information regarding the molecular landscape of the tumor cells responding to extracellular stimulations, which has greatly advanced the research in cancer biology.

Cell–Cell Contact: Cooperating Clusters of Actin and Cadherin [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Biology, 2008
Cooperation between cadherins and actin critically influences tissue organization. A new report identifies distinct pools of actin filaments that influence the spatial distribution of cadherins at cell-cell contacts.
