PRMT5 Is Upregulated in HTLV-1-Mediated T-Cell Transformation and Selective Inhibition Alters Viral Gene Expression and Infected Cell Survival [PDF]

open access: yesViruses, 2015
Human T-cell leukemia virus type-1 (HTLV-1) is a tumorigenic retrovirus responsible for development of adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL). This disease manifests after a long clinical latency period of up to 2–3 decades.

The potato mop-top virus TGB2 protein and viral RNA associate with chloroplasts and viral infection induces inclusions in the plastids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The potato mop-top virus (PMTV) triple gene block 2 (TGB2) movement proteins fused to monomeric red fluorescent protein (mRFP-TGB2) was expressed under the control of the PMTV subgenomic promoter from a PMTV vector.

Oncogenic viruses and their role in tumor formation [PDF]

open access: yesSrpski Arhiv za Celokupno Lekarstvo, 2005
Oncogenic viruses trigger persistent infections, which can stimulate uncontrolled cell growth by inducing cell transformation. Different oncogenic viruses use different mechanisms for infecting cells.

Differential Regulation of Cellular FAM111B by Human Adenovirus C Type 5 E1 Oncogenes

open access: yesViruses, 2021
The adenovirus type 5 (HAdV-C5) E1 transcription unit encodes regulatory proteins that are essential for viral replication and transformation. Among these, E1A and E1B-55K act as key multifunctional HAdV-C5 proteins involved in various steps of the viral

The Role of microRNAs, Long Non-coding RNAs, and Circular RNAs in Cervical Cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2020
Prolonged infection of uterine cervix epithelium with human papillomavirus (HPV) and constitutive expression of viral oncogenes have been recognized as the main cause of the complex molecular changes leading to transformation of cervical epithelial cells.

The role of coronin 1 during cell mediated immune responses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Coronin 1 is one of 7 mammalian isoforms member of the evolutionary conserved WD40-repeat proteins that are involved in a variety of activities such a cell migration and cytokinesis.

The eEF1A proteins: at the crossroads of oncogenesis, apoptosis and viral infections.

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2015
Eukaryotic translation elongation factors 1 alpha, eEF1A1 and eEF1A2, are not only translation factors, but also pleiotropic proteins that are highly expressed in human tumors, including breast cancer, ovarian cancer and lung cancer.

The Integrated State of Viral DNA in SV40-Transformed Cells [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1968
It has been shown by a modified DNA-RNA hybridization technique that the nuclei of cells transformed by either polyoma virus or SV40 contain viral DNA.1 This method employs RNA synthesized in vitro with form I viral DNA2–4 and E. coli RNA polymerase. The number of viral DNA equivalents per cell varies from 5 to 60, depending on the cell line.

Specific antigen of tumor cell transformed by DNA extracted from SV-40 virus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
In the immunofluorescent study it has been revealed that rabbit sera immunized with transformed cells induced by SV-40 DNA, produce circulating antibody capable of re:lcting with intranuclear antigens synthesized by SV-40 complyte virus transforming ...
