A Biomimetic Norepinephrine‐Loaded Aligned Mineralized Collagen Scaffold for Coordinated Neurovascular, Osteogenic, and Immunomodulatory Repair of Critical‐Sized Bone Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by the composition and structure of native bone tissue and its complex interplay of biological signals, a norepinephrine‐loaded biomimetic mineralized electrocompacted collagen scaffold (NE‐MEC) is developed capable of simultaneously supporting osteogenesis, neural repair, angiogenesis, and immune modulation.

New CGRP Antagonists [PDF]

open access: yesThe Scientific World JOURNAL, 2001
The presentation will focus on BIBN 4096 BS, since this compound is still the only potent calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP)-antagonist described so far[1].

Advancing the Tendinopathy Triad: Comment on “Tendinopathy: The Interplay Between Mechanical Stress, Inflammation, and Vascularity”

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Building upon the integrative framework of tendinopathy proposed by Gehwolf et al.—which elegantly connects mechanical stress, inflammation, and vascularity—this commentary extends the discussion by introducing novel mechanistic insights and future research directions that move beyond the established triad. A paradigm shift is proposed ...

Remote Activation of Spinal TRPV1 by Magnetic Nanocubes Confers Cardioprotection Against Myocardial Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fe‐based magnetic nanocubes conjugated with TRPV1 antibodies (FeNCs‐TRPV1) are developed for the specific targeting of TRPV1 channels. Intraspinally injected FeNCs‐TRPV1 induces TRPV1 desensitization in rats exposed to repetitive and transient ACMF.

Native CGRP Neuropeptide and Its Stable Analogue SAX, But Not CGRP Peptide Fragments, Inhibit Mucosal HIV-1 Transmission

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
BackgroundThe vasodilator neuropeptide calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) plays both detrimental and protective roles in different pathologies. CGRP is also an essential component of the neuro-immune dialogue between nociceptors and mucosal immune ...

CGRP Enhances the Regeneration of Bone Defects by Regulating Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cells Through Promoting ANGPTL4 Secretion by Bone Blood Vessels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Bone angiogenesis is important for bone formation and regeneration after bone injury. Endothelial‐derived angiogenic factors are key signal transducers in the bone microenvironment and maintain vascular–osteogenic coupling during bone regeneration.

Cryo-EM structure of the active, Gs-protein complexed, human CGRP receptor

open access: yesNature, 2018
Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) is a widely expressed neuropeptide that has a major role in sensory neurotransmission. The CGRP receptor is a heterodimer of the calcitonin receptor-like receptor (CLR) class B G-protein-coupled receptor and a type ...

Expression of the CGRP Family of Neuropeptides and their Receptors in the Trigeminal Ganglion

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Neuroscience, 2020
The calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) family of neuropeptides, consists of CGRP, adrenomedullin, amylin, and calcitonin. The receptors consist of either calcitonin receptor-like receptor (CLR) or calcitonin receptor (CTR) which for function needs an
