A New C13-Norisoprenoid from the Fruits of Chaenomeles sinensis

Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 2020
A new C13-norisoprenoid, chaenomelesterpenoid C (1), was isolated from the fruits of Chaenomeles sinensis (Dum.Cours.) Koehne together with a known compound, linarionoside C (2). The structure of compound 1 was determined by NMR and MS analysis. Meanwhile, the protective effects of the compounds were tested against corticosterone-induced damage in PC ...

Purification and Characterization of a Lectin from Chinese Quince (Chaenomeles sinensis) Fruit

Journal of Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2010
Chaenomeles sinensis lectin (CSL) was isolated from Chinese quince fruit by affinity chromatography. The molecular weight of native CSL was estimated to be 16 kD by gel filtration chromatography. This lectin was found to contain approximately 57% carbohydrates.

Anti-influenza virus activity of Chaenomeles sinensis

Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 2008
This investigation evaluated anti-influenza virus activity of 50% ethanol extract of the fruit of Chaenomeles sinensis K(OEHNE), which is widely used as a traditional Chinese medicine to treat throat diseases.Type A and B influenza viruses were treated with the extract at various concentrations for 1h at room temperature; then the plaque titers of the ...

Bioactive Triterpenoids from the Twigs of Chaenomeles sinensis

Journal of Natural Products, 2017
Chaenomeles sinensis has been consumed traditionally for the treatment of throat diseases, diarrhea, inflammatory diseases, and dry beriberi. Repeated chromatography of the CHCl3-soluble fraction from the 80% MeOH extract of C. sinensis twigs led to the isolation of three new triterpenoids, sinenic acid A (1), 3β-O-cis-feruloyl-2α,19α-dihydroxyurs-12 ...

Five New Oxylipins from Chaenomeles sinensis

Lipids, 2014
AbstractIn the course of our continuing search for bioactive constituents of Korean medicinal plants, we isolated five new oxylipins, chaenomic acid A–E (1–5), and six known ones (6–11) from the twigs of Chaenomeles sinensis. The structures of the new compounds (1–5) were determined by spectroscopic methods, including 1D and 2D NMR (1H and 13C NMR, 1H ...

Gel properties of the gum from Chinese quince (Chaenomeles sinensis) seeds

International Food Research Journal, 2023
The effect of pH and different types and concentrations of salt ions on the gel properties of gum extracted from Chinese quince seeds (CQSG) were investigated by analysing the texture, flow behaviour, water-holding capacity (WHC), zeta potential, and thermal and morphological properties of the gels formed by the gum.

Isolation of bioactive biphenyl compounds from the twigs of Chaenomeles sinensis

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2016
Investigation of the MeOH extract of Chaenomeles sinensis twigs resulted in the isolation of seven biphenyl compounds (1-7) including a new compound, chaenomin (1). The chemical structures of the isolated compounds were elucidated by extensive NMR data ((1)H and (13)C NMR, (1)H-(1)H COSY, HSQC and HMBC), specific optical rotation, and chemical reaction.
