Naringenin and its glycosylated derivative naringin are flavonoids that are synthesized by the phenylpropanoid pathway in plants. We found that naringenin is also formed by the actinobacterium Streptomyces clavuligerus, a well-known microorganism used to

Thermal study of chalcones [PDF]
Chalcones α-β-unsaturated ketones are found in large plant species. Synthesis of chalcones and its three analogues hydroxy group at 2′, 3′ and 4′ positions (2–4) was carried out. The studies of thermal behavior were made by thermogravimetry (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry, both under oxygen and nitrogen purge gases.

Study of Michael addition on chalcones and or chalcone analogues
AbstractMichael addition reaction of 1,3-diphenyl-propenone 1a, e, and f with o-amino thiophenol in the presence of indium trichloride gave the benzothiazine derivatives 2a–c. Condensation of the compound 1a, e with o-phenylene diamine in triethylamine gave the benzodiazepine derivatives 3a–b.

A Strong Lewis Acidic Diethylsilylium Catalyst for Direct Sulfonamidation of Challenging Ketones
Low‐substitution‐order silylium ions (R2HSi+) exhibit exceptional Lewis acidic activity. We report diethylsilylium‐catalyzed reductive sulfonamidation of functionalized ketones to access β‐amino esters. The in situ generated ion pair shows enhanced reactivity, with diethylsilane serving as both reductant and precatalyst. The developed protocol proceeds

In silico screening of chalcones against Epstein-Barr virus nuclear antigen 1 protein [PDF]
The Epstein-Barr nuclear antigen 1 (EBNA1) is a crucial protein expressed by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). The EBNA1 is necessary for the replication and transcriptional regulation of latent gene expression of the EBV.

Phthalocyanine-chalcone conjugates
A phthalocyanine-chalcone conjugate was previously reported to retain the full photodynamic activity of the phthalocyanine and a slightly lowered antivascular effect of the chalcone. Assuming that it was due to an insufficient release of the chalcone, we described here several grafting modes applied to the preparation of phthalocyanine-chalcone ...

SuFEx‐Enabled Reprogramming of Flavonoids for Selective α‐Glucosidase Covalent Inhibition
Selective inhibition of intestinal α‐glucosidase remains limited by poor enzyme specificity and off‐target metabolic effects. Here, SuFEx click chemistry is used to reprogram natural flavonoids into covalent inhibitors with enhanced α‐glucosidase selectivity and controlled reactivity. This strategy enables effective regulation of carbohydrate digestion
