Activity and Heterogeneity of Astrocytes in Neurological Diseases: Molecular Mechanisms and Therapeutic Targets

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 9, September 2025.
Astrocytes display heterogeneity in various neurological disorders and behavioral neuropsychiatric disorders. Astrocytes influence the progression of neurological diseases through neuroinflammation, oxidative stress, metabolic abnormalities, intercellular interactions, and a spectrum of other pathophysiological processes.

Activated Interferon‐γ‐Positive T Lymphocytes and Cytokine Signatures in Patients With Postinfectious Cough

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 9, September 2025.
Postinfectious cough patients have elevated levels of activated IFN‐γ+ T lymphocytes in blood. Postinfectious cough patients exhibit airway inflammatory signatures characterized by activated IFN‐γ+ T‐lymphocytes and elevated levels of IFN‐γ, TNF‐α, IFN‐α, IFN‐β, and IL‐10.

Antitumor Activity of Tumor‐Infiltrating Neutrophils Revealed by a Syngeneic Mouse Model of Cholangiocarcinoma

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 116, Issue 9, Page 2457-2470, September 2025.
This study developed a genetically engineered and transplantable cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) organoid model in immunocompetent mice to investigate the role of tumor‐infiltrating immune cells in CCA progression. The findings revealed that tumor‐infiltrating neutrophils (TINs) exhibit antitumor activity by directly killing cancer cells through reactive ...

Bosutinib mitigates inflammation in experimental sepsis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation, Volume 55, Issue 9, September 2025.
Abstract Background Sepsis, a leading cause of death globally, lacks targeted and effective treatment. Its pathophysiology involves unbalanced inflammation, marked by a high release of inflammatory mediators, leukocyte recruitment, vascular changes and dysfunction of the nervous and respiratory systems. Src family tyrosine kinases (SFK) play a critical

Role of Fibroblast‐Immune Crosstalk in Kidney, Lung, and Skin Tertiary Lymphoid Structures

open access: yesImmunological Reviews, Volume 334, Issue 1, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs) are organized aggregates of lymphocytes, myeloid cells, and stromal cells that form at sites of inflammation, providing adaptive immune responses outside of secondary lymphoid organs (SLOs). Found in various pathological conditions—including chronic infections, cancer, organ transplantation, autoimmune ...
