Effect of radiation on regeneration of Chinese narcissus and analysis of genetic variation with AFLP and RAPD markers

Plant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture, 2007
The aim of our study was to establish an efficient in vitro propagation protocol for Chinese narcissus (Narcissus tazetta var. chinensis) to obtain variants of this species using γ-radiation treatment and evaluate the effectiveness of this system for variant induction using amplification fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) and randomly amplified ...

NtMYB1 and NtNCED1/2 control abscisic acid biosynthesis and tepal senescence in Chinese narcissus (Narcissus tazetta)

Journal of Experimental Botany, 2023
Abstract Chinese narcissus (Narcissus tazetta var. chinensis cv. ‘Jinzhanyintai’) is one of the 10 most famous traditional flowers of China, having a beautiful and highly ornamental flower with a rich fragrance. However, the flower longevity affects its commercial appeal.

Cloning and functional characterization of a GNA‐like lectin from Chinese Narcissus (Narcissus tazetta var. Chinensis Roem)

Physiologia Plantarum, 2011
A full‐length cDNA encoding Narcissus tazetta lectin (NTL) was isolated from Chinese narcissus (N. tazetta var. Chinensis Roem). The open reading frame (ORF) was 519 bp long and encoded 172 amino acids with a theoretical isoelectric point of 5.27 and a calculated molecular mass of 18.6 kDa. Conserved domain analysis indicated that it possessed three d‐(

Lectins from bulbs of the Chinese daffodil Narcissus tazetta (family Amaryllidaceae)

Biochemistry and Cell Biology, 2000
The isolation of three lectins with similar N-terminal amino acid sequences from the bulbs of the Chinese daffodil Narcissus tazetta was achieved. The isolation protocol involved ion exchange chromatography on DEAE-cellulose, affinity chromatography on mannose-agarose, and fast protein liquid chromatography-gel filtration on Superose 12.

Bioactive substances from the Chinese daffodil, Narcissus tazetta

Phytotherapy Research, 1992
AbstractThe cardiovascular activity of the aqueous (A) and 30% MeOH (B) fractions of an ethanol extract of the daffodil bulbs (Narcissus tazetta) was examined using in vivo and in vitro preparations of normotensive rats and in the presence/absence of various blockers: α, β‐adrenergic, cholinergic, ganglionic, histaminergic, enzyme converson inhibitor ...

Isolation and characterization of a mannose-binding lectin from leaves of the Chinese daffodil Narcissus tazetta

Biochemistry and Cell Biology, 1998
A mannose-binding lectin was isolated from leaves of the Chinese daffodil Narcissus tazetta (family Amaryllidaceae) using a procedure that comprised extraction with aqueous buffer, ammonium sulfate precipitation, ion exchange chromatography on DEAE-cellulose, affinity chromatography on Affi-gel Blue gel and mannose-agarose, and FPLC-gel filtration on ...

In vitroinduction and regeneration of callus from three inflorescence organs of Chinese narcissus (Narcissus tazettaL. var.chinensisRoem.)

The Journal of Horticultural Science and Biotechnology, 2014
SummaryCallus induction and regeneration from ovary, pedicel, and scape explants of Chinese narcissus (Narcissus tazetta L. var. chinensis Roem.) ‘Jin Zhan Yin Tai’ were investigated. Two types of callus, compact and friable, were obtained, but only compact callus could differentiate into shoots. Initially, compact callus was produced on 1.0× Murashige

Mannose-Specific Isolectins with Different Hemagglutinating Potencies Isolated from Chinese Daffodil (Narcissus tazetta var. chinensis) Leaves

Journal of Protein Chemistry, 2000
Three mannose-specific lectins exhibiting considerable similarities in NH2-terminal amino acid sequence were isolated from leaves of the Chinese daffodil Narcissus tazetta (Family Amaryllidaceae). The purification protocol involved extraction with an aqueous buffer, anion exchange chromatography on DEAE-cellulose using stepwise elution with increasing ...

[Introduction of hexaploid of Chinese narcissus and analysis of its chromosome change].

Fen zi xi bao sheng wu xue bao = Journal of molecular cell biology, 2009
Anthers of Chinese narcissus (Narcissus tazetta L. var chinesis Roem) were used as explants for callus induction and plant regeneration. About 80% anthers produced callus and 28% of the callus differentiated out bulbs, making a good experiment system of tissue culture of Chinese narcissus for further cellular and gene engineering.
