Statistical-mechanical lattice models for protein-DNA binding in chromatin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Statistical-mechanical lattice models for protein-DNA binding are well established as a method to describe complex ligand binding equilibriums measured in vitro with purified DNA and protein components. Recently, a new field of applications has opened up

SUMOylation regulates tumorigenesis and progression: Molecular mechanisms and therapeutic applications

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
SUMOylation, a dynamic post‐translational modification, acts as a master regulator at the heart of tumor malignancy. Our work delineates how the SUMOylation cycle—mediated by E1/E2/E3 enzymes and reversed by SENPs—orchestrates multiple hallmarks of cancer. The central pathway converges on three critical pathological axes: 1.

Phenotypic and molecular spectra of patients with switch/sucrose nonfermenting complex-related intellectual disability disorders in Korea

open access: yesBMC Medical Genomics, 2021
Background The switch/sucrose nonfermenting (SWI/SNF) complex is an adenosine triphosphate-dependent chromatin-remodeling complex associated with the regulation of DNA accessibility. Germline mutations in the components of the SWI/SNF complex are related

Homologous Recombination: To Fork and Beyond [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Accurate completion of genome duplication is threatened by multiple factors that hamper the advance and stability of the replication forks. Cells need to tolerate many of these blocking lesions to timely complete DNA replication, postponing their repair ...

Nigericin‐Triggered Phosphodynamics in Inflammasome Formation and Pyroptosis

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Innate immune signaling relies heavily on phosphorylation cascades to mount effective immune responses. Although traditional innate immune signaling cascades following TLR4 stimulation have been investigated through a temporally quantitative phosphoproteomic lens, far fewer studies have applied these methods to distinct signaling following the

BiFCo: visualizing cohesin assembly/disassembly cycle in living cells

open access: yesLife Science Alliance, 2023
A novel strategy developed in fission yeast to visualise only-assembled cohesin complex loading/unloading cycles in eukaryotic chromosomes in living cells. Cohesin is a highly conserved, ring-shaped protein complex found in all eukaryotes. It consists of

TRIP13 is a protein-remodeling AAA+ ATPase that catalyzes MAD2 conformation switching. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The AAA+ family ATPase TRIP13 is a key regulator of meiotic recombination and the spindle assembly checkpoint, acting on signaling proteins of the conserved HORMA domain family.

Redox‐responsive dual‐drug nanomedicine integrating cisplatin and trypsin for synergistic reversal of tumor chemoresistance

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel glutathione‐activatable prodrug nanomedicine (cRGD‐PEG‐PGlu‐NP (ssTrypsin & CDDP)) that co‐encapsulates cisplatin and a masked protease to combat cisplatin resistance. The dual‐drug system selectively targets resistant tumor cells, enhancing the efficacy of cisplatin while minimizing systemic toxicity.

Establishment of Human Formative Pluripotent Stem Cell‐Like Cells Exhibiting Amniotic Differentiation Potentials

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
The hfPSC‐LCs could be established from naïve hESCs, conventional hESCs, hiPSCs, and human blastocysts. The hfPSC‐LCs hold robust capacity for three germ layers, hPGCLCs, and hALPCs. ABSTRACT Human embryos undergo pivotal morphogenetic remodelling shortly after implantation. The understanding of this crucial stage is severely impeded by the scarcity of

Ran GTPase promotes oocyte polarization by regulating ERM (Ezrin/Radixin/Moesin) inactivation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
International audienceAsymmetric meiotic divisions in mammalian oocytes are driven by the eccentric positioning of the spindle, along with a dramatic reorganization of the overlying cortex, including a loss of microvilli and formation of a thick actin ...
